Title: Closing Blockbuster
Post by: Viewtifulboy on March 09, 2013, 03:05:10 PM
Our local Blockbuster is closing soon, and they're having a sale, but I'm not celebrating. sadbot;
My mom was kind enough to give me the money to buy Persona 4 Arena from there for $22, but I'm not celebrating. =(

That Blockbuster has been around for as long as I can remember.  Over 20 years.  That's where I got Resident Evil Degeneration, Dead Space: Extraction, and The World Ends With You.  I have so many precious memories of that place.  I used to stop by after work, go there for a visit and browse the games...  I don't want it to go! :(  I want Blockbuster to stay!  No other store has their movie selection!  It will never be the same!

And the anniversary of my cat's death is this Wednesday too. ohintercourse me;

I haven't been inside a Blockbuster in at least four years. Haven't rented an actual movie from there in at least seven or eight.

Netflix is a subscription-based (which can go straight to hell) service that allows people to watch certain movies or shows anytime.

Steam is a digital game download client.

both are superior to any sort of brick and mortar chain in almost every single possible way for all parties, especially if you only watch a movie once or wait until games are discounted

Not if I don't want certain things to take up tons of memory space, or when I want to keep something or rent something!

The Wii only uses the shop channel for smaller games and the Virtual Console.  They keep their big games on CD.
