Title: Dream World
Post by: DededeCloneChris on April 07, 2011, 07:27:11 PM
Yes, the place where all those unique Pokemon with unique abilities is...still on a hiatus. And with that second earthquake at Japan, the Dream World is facing a nightmare.

But who is looking forward to explore the Dream World, though? Discuss.

Japan just can't get a break. When it's up I'll probably look around, but I probably won't do much in there.

Berries can only be grown there
What the intercourse  is this
Nintendo thanks for blocking us from this crucial part of gameplay

Politoed and Ninetales are a Kyogre and Groundon 2.0.
And Eccentric is the same as Transform just automatic.

A few of them make a not-so-useful pokemon more useful. Speed Boost Blaziken is an example, but that's banned now so...

I might send over DW pokemon just for fun. You can pass the ability through breeding, if the mother has it. But a lot of them aren't quite worth it.

1. Kyogre and Groudon are Uber, so Politoed and Ninetales are great in that they're actually usable.
2. Eccentric is amazing, because you no longer have to waste that initial turn, meaning that Choice Scarf Ditto is automatically faster than whatever Pokemon he's thrown out on. Basically, Ditto used to be almost completely useless in battle (skipping your first turn automatically just to use a strange Pokemon is an awful strategy), but now Eccentric has made him potentially the best revenge killer in the game.

Check the enclosed instruction booklet.

...Seriously, you're asking that now? Didn't you meet somebody named Fennel, who explained to you the concept? Either way, it's a wonderful place in the internet where you can do even more stuff like growing berries and catching Pokemon with unique abilities that they didn't have before.

...And BTW, the site is closed. Using the C-Gear is also closed because they're doing maintenance right now.

I thought it was just your total play time. Like you could play for 30 minutes now, 30 later.

Now I have to wait until I'll be able to stay on it for a straight hour.

And this is a "per day" basis? When do the days reset? Midnight what time zone?

Post by: DededeCloneChris on April 12, 2011, 04:32:18 PM
OKAY! It's time to clarify some things:

ONE! - Using the C-Gear's Game Sync in the internet option or Munna's Dream Smoke needs you to put a Pokemon to sleep. DO NOT REMOVE THAT POKEMON YET. It'll be your first time doing this, and they'll give you a code.

TWO! - You MUST make an account at pokemon.com, and THEN register. Alternatively, you can register at the Global Link Site as well where the code you got from the C-Gear will have to be entered along with your username. If you forgot to see the code, you can check it on the start screen where you choose the file to play your game.

THREE! - After registering your account WHILE your Pokemon is dreaming, you HAVE to go to the Global Link Site where you choose the Dream World window. There, you can use the Pokemon you sent to sleep to do various activities such as playing mini-games, growing berries, download backgrounds for your C-Gear, and more.

FOUR! - Your Pokemon will befriend Pokemon by exploring the Dream World. Those Pokemon are THEN sent to your game in the Entralink area. You can access the Entralink using the C-Gear's wireless. Enter the forest where you can capture them easily.

FIVE! - You got an hour to do all this before your Pokemon wakes up, so make the most of it. Waking up your Pokemon will force you to wait a whole day to use the Dream World again.

SIX! - Rinse and repeat tomorrow.
Title: Re: Dream World
Post by: DededeCloneChris on April 12, 2011, 04:39:55 PM
AND ANOTHER THING!

Registering at the Global Link with your game will keep track of your Random Matchups record in Wi-Fi.

There is a lot I can do with it, I guess. Like the supereffective-move berries, take reduced damage from Fire infinitely or something, but Exeggutor has so many weaknesses they can't all be covered.

An infinite Lum Berry would be cool. Status absorber, or endless Resting. So many possibilities.

The C-Gear will merely put one of your Pokemon to sleep. Once that is done, there's nothing else you can do on the C-Gear.

The next step is then go to the site where your sleeping Pokemon will act as your avatar to explore the Dream World until the time runs out.

Fennel will give you a few berries when you first use the Dream World. I think it can be any of the berries that reduce super-effective damage from a certain type. So it can be Rindo, Yache, whatever.

I absolutely love this, that I just realized.

When you reach the Dream Tree, you don't have to send a Pokémon to your Friend Board. I knew this, but what I found out today is you can return to your home and do the Island of Dreams again. And the Pokémon you befriended your first time through don't even leave. They stay there until after you leave the Dream World.

So not only can I constantly run through to get more berries, I can repeatedly catch 3-4 Pokémon, rinse and repeat, then at the end of the hour end up with like 20 Pokémon to choose from.

I've also noticed that after a certain number of Dream Isle trips in a single visit, things disappear. My last two times going through I didn't find a single item or Pokémon. But oh well, that's alright.

I got my Regenerator Tangela today. But.. it's male, and its ability is poor. Oh well, I can keep trying.

Shiny Bush = Item
Vibrating Water = Aquatic Pokemon

What? How do you have something that's not se- wait

If you choose not to send anything, it must carry over to the next day. I thought you lost all the pokemon that befriend you when you disconnect from the DW. Yeah, that's when it gets empty for me, once I've filled up over 2 pages of Pokemon. What I usually do is do Dream Isle over and over again until I near the end of my visit (and it goes empty), pick something to send to the Entralink, do one final check on my garden, maybe plant a new Berry I found, then leave.

Makes perfect sense.

What's strange is that my list isn't even full.
I do the same thing.
I always take full advantage of the visits until they become empty.

But what I did before was never send a pokemon through the Extralink because none of them I wanted.
So the next day I would still have the exact same pokemon I befriended in my list, and the forest was still empty.
It was pretty clear to me that I "had" to send something to the EL in order to continue finding stuff in the Forest.

Well it doesn't cost anything to send something (save a berry- but you get tons of Oran berries you don't have much more use for) so I just pick things to help fill my dex.

Finally got Sparkling Sea access. I don't feel like doing DW today (my time would be now) so I'll put it to first thing tomorrow afternoon and start from there.

The minigames are starting to annoy me. Well, not really. Hide and Seek pisses me off to no end now. Ice Cream is okay but not so new and exciting (plus the berry cost is ugh). Sky Race used to be my favorite, but now I'm at the point where I can't possibly finish it faster (Did anyone ever finish it with more than 53 seconds left on the board? I haven't.) but the Wailord game... every time I play it I either kick ass or fail miserably. Trying to break 100K a second time on that.

I don't plan on collecting any of my pokemon from the EL Forest until I finish the game which may be a while since I'm "still" exploring.

I'm so tired of getting sent to Pleasant Forest more than the others though, and I have not even once got sent to the Sparkling Sea at all. But I guess that's because I only have 7 badges.

But aside from all of that I really want some stat boosting berries.

Once you send one, the rest go away.

You just failed. Drifloon or Poliwag; pick one

Umm, no.
I got the Drifloon first, sent it through EL and then put my pokemon back to sleep which resets the visit counter.
Went through the Isle again, found the Poliwag after the 2nd or 3rd trip in DI, but didn't send it through because if I did I would have to wait another 24 hours to put it back to sleep, and that is something I really do not want to go through since I also harvest and replant my berries near the end point of my hour and also water my friends.

I always leave my chosen pokemon on my second visit until the next day for the sole purpose of not getting locked out when I'm not even finished with my hour.

Heck, even when I find a pokemon I want I still continue on with the minigames just for the sake of the points.

I just nabbed a Big Pecks Chatot, but like my Poliwag I'm not sending it through until tomorrow.

Man I cannot wait to start breeding that Drifloon, Vulpix and Poliwag.
Also, I wonder when new pokemon are gonna be added to the DW.

I really want my Iron Fist Timburr.

They lost my Espeon. I know I won it, I remember spending hours making sure it selected Espeon at the end of the game...

and it says I'm not qualified. And no, i didn't forget to log in when I played the game. I did everything I was supposed to, and for this reason I'm immensely mad at the PGL for this.

Oh, wow. You too?
I thought it was just a glitch for me or something.

I kept clicking the "Promotions" tab like it said, but it would always say "You need an account to qualify", which I did.

I got confused at that point and decided to just try it again another day.

I even checked my list of recently played games and it says "You have not played any games yet".

Best bet would be to send an email through technical support if you really really want your eeveelution.

I hate that. "Oh man, I want Arceus in my collection, so I better vote to distribute it across the world."

Um, can't we get something that hasn't ALREADY been given away for free this year? You know, like something we could actually USE in a fight, or at least a legendary from a past gen?

Oh well, I'm sure there will be more...

It's stupidly convoluted. You have to register for this site, and sync it with your game. Then go to dreamworld and input the code in the promotions tab. I'm sure there are guides online that go into better depth.

And gee, that sure is nice of Nintendo to just give away level 100 Arceus', ya know, the god monster above all else. Nope, just have one and don't bother having to work to catch it. *shrugs*

The worst part is that it WAS in the game, with the Azure Flute and the other dimension and everything. For some reason they like to design cool in-game events and then just never use them.
