Read this, please. Further note, this is a very serious thread. Please treat it as such.

We're really glad you are all a part of this community. To some of you, this is just a place you haphazardly visit. To others yet, this is your home. NSFCD really has become a family since our beginning in 2007. With a family comes ups and downs; drama, memories, laughs, and loss.

But the best part of this site is the level we tend to know one another. We see pictures of many of our users, and Power Down offers unique opportunities to reveal even more about yourself (as does #nsider). With this, though, comes the revelations that bring us closer together...those that are darker and drearier.

Lately, we've seen a lot of talk of depression and suicide from our users. That's what this is about. As a community, this discussion is great. We want to be there for one another. But I want to make one thing perfectly clear - if we have any inclination that you are serious about suicide, we will alert your ISP. One user is currently under review as we speak, and their ISP has been alerted.

This brings up two points:

1. If you joke about it, and it comes off as serious, you will be in serious poop. We aren't fooling around at this point. We take the welfare of you guys seriously.

2. We're here to talk. Silver and I are both willing to listen to any issues you have and talk them out between the lot of us. We will proactively speak with you about things if you reach out to us. Sometimes, though, we will be forced to go beyond that and do as I mentioned above.

I want to re-iterate that this is not an issue with one user. Right now, I'd put three or four users on the list of "scaring me." These users will be talked to in private in the near future about what we can do to help.

If you believe one of your friends may be suicidal, please alert the administration. If you know them in real life, you are advised to seek the help of parents, teachers, counselors, clergy, or police.

This website has some information on Myths and Facts about suicide. I strongly suggest reading this over to gain a better awareness of what it is and isn't.

I realize we're not an uber serious site. As does Silver. Both of us are genuinely concerned. For the rest of March we will be treating this as an "awareness" month - after all, I've both been touched by suicide, and as some of you may know, mere seconds away from doing it myself. Suicide is serious.

Thank you for reading this guys, and being a part of our great community. It means a lot. In case you missed out, we are giving away a copy of either Pokemon Heart Gold or Pokemon Heart Silver. Be sure to check the contest out!

Have a great week.

As Mack said, this is a serious topic. I know it doesn't affect the majority of you, but I'm aware that it affects some. Just remember, whatever you do on here ultimately comes back to the administration, namely me. As the proprietor of the site, if one of my users committed suicide, I would be held responsible for not doing something about it. I don't know if any legal action would be taken against me or the site, but I really don't want to have to find out. It sounds corny, but I really do care deeply about each and every one of you, and I would feel guilty if anything ever did happen. Just keep all this in mind before you do anything drastic.

I've been trained in a youth suicide prevention training. I see this kind of stuff too :(

It's never a good thing when you have to see people go through periods in their lives when they believe that suicide is the answer. I've had to stop my cousin from doing it, it's not a nice feeling.

I don't know if any of you have heard the saying "Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem"

Times change, feelings change, but death is forever.

I think this is a good idea. Personally, I'd never commit suicide and I don't want to see any of you dying by your own hands, either. Whether I like any of you or not, I don't want you guys to die <3.
I get obsessively manic over things. It's a problem.

I hope I'm not included in that three or four. I haven't cut in weeks and feel generally good about myself for now. <3

Don't worry, guys. I promise not to go anywhere.

I really hate how I've made more than 12,000 posts here. Thankfully this swaying, moving Chandelure makes it all worth it.

Wording: Always be careful with it.

Also I'd like to say that I'm open to advice myself as well. I'm probably not near as good as it than the others here but If you're seriously thinking about quitting your life then you have a lot to rethink. Really, even If you are antisocial, you're still not being chased by the cops.

But in any case I agree with this thread even through I've only seen depression in the confession thread.

3 of my friends smoke weed. Why? Well I asked one time, and this is what they said: "Because I can blow out smoke and it makes me feel like a intercourse ing dragon"

You said not to go anywhere thus meaning you would sit at your chair and post all your life.

but seriously speaking I know what you mean by.

Seeing depression turn into thought of suicide is very sad to see. I would never commit suicide, but to see a person you know having thoughts of suicide is very sad.

Ok, I may haven't told anyone here but i have lost a close friend with his parents in a deadly car crash a couple years ago and I crumbled from it. It was an accident not suicide, but to lose someone by any kind of death is a terrible tragedy. I don't want to experience something like this again but through a forum.

If you need help, just MSN me (MSN info on the left <_<). Best thing is that you have people that care about you.

If you guys need anyone to talk to, IM me through AIM.  I've been through this.  There is a better way out.  For me, turns out I needed people that care about me to hear what I have to say and how how I was feeling.  That, and the right medication prescribed by a professional.

If you'd like to hear the full story, feel free to PM me.

Kayo

Oh yeah, never mentioned this. If any of you guys out there are ever feeling depressed, I know exactly how you feel. You can also talk to me through IM, email, whatever. I'll update information in my profile.

I love talking to depressed people. <3
Hit me up on Facebook/msn/aim/yahoo/text if you need to talk. I got your back, bro/broett

Dog Food

You have all of us at NSFCD to talk to, or your friends and family. Sometimes it's easier to confess stuff when there's a computer screen blocking you from the other person - but then again there is always Skype and ooVoo. But yeah, I'll always make time to listen. Unless you want a guy's perspective. Then you basically have everyone else to help you with that.
