Title: Are you getting a Kinect?
Post by: Tupin on November 02, 2010, 08:17:05 PM
It's coming out Thursday, are you getting it?

I'm definitely going to demo it first, it's going to really have to amaze me for me to get it.

Nope, it's too expensive and doesn't have any good games.

And it's not like my house has enough room for the darn thing, anyway.

Today, some guy brought a Kinect to my Cisco class in school. I was the only one who didn't want to play because the tracking system is worse than the Wii. I literally saw how they wiggled like crazy, and I compared how the system needed slow moves to track down your body gesture.

...Oh, sorry. I didn't answer the topic's question. My answer is no.

I played it at my friend's house.
It worked but not as well as I had hoped. Right now the only thing that could get me to buy it would be an Ace Attorney game.

Just played the demo at Best Buy tonight. It's okay, but not worth $150 right now. Also, the camera in it is really low res.

Kind of cool that you don't need a controller, but they need to tweak it more. Moving a menu with your hands doesn't work as well as you think it would.

I'll probably get it when there's a price drop or sale.

No. Cost prohibitive and it's just not a good peripheral.

I basically already have it for Wii.

It's trying to mimic the Wii and doing a piss-poor job at it.

No.

You're both thinking of the wrong system (http://www.techtilt.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Sony-Move-18-640x506.jpg).

Yeah, Sony's Move is poorly copying Nintendo's Wiimote.

Microsoft's Kinect is poorly copying Sony's EyeToy.  :D

No. I decided this during E3.
