No internet. No backwards compatibility. No plans to keep selling after the holidays. No known release regions besides Canada.

And yet, I want it.

Not interested, though its no surprise that Nintendo is pulling a Sony.

Custom

last year i got a wii for christmas so i can do brawl and stuffs

i went to play brawl but noticed the top didnt open for gamecube ports

i freaked out wtf

i did some google searching to find out they removed it, and it wasn't advertised

a few angry emails to nintendo later threatening to stop buying nintendo products as a long time user (which they confirmed via my nsider account lol), i had a replaced console within a few days

so the existing wii is bundled with nsmb for $150 in canada. this is not even a discount.

but it will generate more holiday sales than wii u.

Interesting that every manufacturer always seems to start out with trays/slots and goes to flip-tops. Wonder if Microsoft will introduce one for the 360 soon.

Strangely enough, this tactic almost always works. Sony did this with the PS1 in 2000, the same year the PS2 launched, and they sold way more PS1s that holiday season because of the price and established library.

Even worse, it only outputs composite.

Welcome to 1985, Nintendo.

Kayo

It's so cute.

And to be honest, basically everyone who wants the Virtual Console and GCN ports already has a Wii. The only people that still buy them (mostly) are the people who want those family games like Just Dance or Mario Kart or whatever.
I really hate how I've made more than 12,000 posts here. Thankfully this swaying, moving Chandelure makes it all worth it.

yeah, custom isn't kidding. the current wii they sell lacks backwards compatibility

Tupin

Apparently this thing's getting released in the UK soon.

May be a future rarity if Canada and UK are the only markets they release them in.
