Hopefully it's more than one exclusive and it doesn't turn out like the DSi.

I'm all for fancy new refreshes but exclusive games is kind of retarded.

I get the exclusivity thing

I mean if they didn't make the games exclusive it'd just run like poop on the pooptier older 3DS. That said why didn't they just make the 3DS more powerful from the get go? Why the intercourse  doesn't the screen have better resolution?

First question, because they probably didn't predict 3D would be a fad as much as it was. Secondly, so it would be compatible with previous games.

are you people complaining

gameboy pocket to gameboy color was a minor graphical update with exclusive games after about 27 months
3dsXL to n3ds/xl is a minor graphical update with more powerful processing, 3d viewing from any angle, more button inputs, and amiibo support, after about 27 months

did you all ninny when the gameboy color came out?

intercourse  off
they made circle pad pros with pretty much no support for the 3ds and xl and then they decided to make this with exclusive games on it
poop's intercourse ed
it hasn't even been a year since the launch of the 2ds

2DS is a gimmick for more sales, like the Micro and the Pocket. No one ninnyed about the Micro.

This is a well needed upgrade from the 3DS - improved 3D by not forcing you to look from one position, the extra button inputs (aside from the control nublet, there are z-triggers on top), amiibo support, and improved processing and graphics.

gameboy color had exclusive games too.  and in SOME gameboy model updates and even DS updates, they took OUT features. you couldn't play any gameboy/color games on the micro or any ds console. you couldn't play GBA on the DSI.

stop whining, this is an improvement and within the same timeframe that nintendo always does their stuff.

The 2DS was nothing more than trying to sell the system to a younger/cheaper audience so that they could get the new Pokemon into as many hands as possible.

I just hope that Xenoblade being on it opens the doors for more exclusives. Or at least games compatible on both that have a special New 3DS version. Obviously they won't be as intensive as games specifically for the New 3DS, but it might help sales.

A lot of people are complaining that the New 3DS is coming out.

I'm just complaining they don't have an American release planned yet.

I super want that thing; Xenoblade portable, tiny C-stick, faster downloads, NFC, ZL and ZR... so good...

Nintendo said an American and European release are happening, but not until 2015.

Just a timeline:

Gameboy Pocket to Gameboy Color: Two years. Added color.
Gameboy Advance to Gameboy Advance SP: Two years. Added lighting and a folding design.
Gameboy Advance SP to Gameboy Advance SP Model 2: One year. Added a backlight and a brightness switch.
Gameboy Advance SP to Gameboy Micro: Two years. Removed features in favor of a small size.

All updates within the same line, all two years apart, with the exception of SP to SP2.

Nintendo DS to DS Lite: Two years. Increased processing and graphics.
Nintendo DS Lite to DSi: Two years. Removes gameboy support and adds a camera.
Nintendo DSi to DSiXL: One year. Made it bigger.
Nintendo DSiXL to to 3DS: Two years - different console
Nintendo 3DS to 3DSXL: One year. Made it bigger.
Nintendo 3DSXL to New 3DS/XL: Two years. Adds viewing from all angles, amiibo support, extra inputs, and stronger hardware.

All the same line, all two years apart except DSI to DSIXL and 3DS to 3DSXL, which were both size upgrades.

This has always been Nintendo's time frame for handheld updates and releases. This is actually one of the most significant changes between same-line consoles. Stop complaining.

i just bought a new version of their handheld and have circle pad pro
this is just jewing me over not giving me something new
now i have to buy a whole new console to play games on equipment on already own because of a slight processor update

do you actually think a bunch of 4-7 year olds would complain about the pocket/color transition
Title: Re: New Nintendo announcements
Post by: Tupin on September 01, 2014, 11:59:12 AM
It's not equipment you already own, though. It has a significant improvement over the previous incarnation of the handheld. If it were to be designed to run on previous versions, it wouldn't be able to take advantage of being made from the ground up with extra processing power.

to me its a pretty good idea considering I was a launch buyer and upgrading seems appealing

to those that just picked up the XL or 2DS though, seems like it is only natural that they'd feel a bit burned

I'm a launch buyer (Ambassador Master Race) who just upgraded to the Year of Luigi XL a couple months ago, and I will definitely buy a New 3DS XL as soon as it comes to America, 'cause I'm just a whore like that.

At this point I have to set money aside for Nintendo releases. I just end up getting them all, but most not on launch day.

Yeah, and look at all of the support the Vita has.

The second incarnation of the Vita was a downgrade, by the way.

i'm not a vita fanboy, i don't give a intercourse  about the second incarnation or what games it has
i just want better from nintendo, they're just doing this poop because the wii u is blowing it.

at least this should be the last iteration of it for sure
Title: Re: New Nintendo announcements
Post by: Zero on September 02, 2014, 11:39:48 PM
wait why would they be doing a new 3DS iteration because the Wii U isn't doing so hot?

I thought they were doing this because 3DS sales were sluggish and 3rd parties weren't really developing for it.

I mean look at the release list for the rest of the year and into next year. The DS had like what, a couple hundred games already by this point in its lifespan? I could be wrong though.

the 3ds may not have as much content as the ds but it still sells well
core gamers identify more with the 3ds at this point
everyone is 3ds pc master race
Title: Re: New Nintendo announcements

>pc master race

playing diablo, league(or any other moba for that matter), MMOs(F2P or otherwise), Hearthstone(or any other trash F2P game), or porn games doesn't really make one master race. I know too many people that throw all their chips into 1 or 2 baskets and that's that.

Far too many pc people buy poop tons of games on steam sales and then never intercourse ing play their games. They have a $1000+ rig that they use for 1 or 2 games and the occasional distraction. I wish this poop wasn't the truth but it is in 2014. You always see people joking about steam sales and how they'll never finish their backlog because DOTA 2 MAN and it is very sad.

I love my gaming PC. But I actually intercourse ing use mine for more than just bullpoop.

~

On topic: Yeah you're right about it still selling well. I was pretty surprised by this information too. Seems a bit soon, but at least we're getting some games. I saw a rumor that Super Mario Sunshine 3D was one of the exclusives they were talking about. Majora's Mask 3D too.

I want a "new" 3DS but I mean, they gotta do better than just great games I've already played remastered in portable form with 3D. They just HAVE to. Otherwise I don't really care.

Super Mario Sunshine and Majora's Mask as exclusives? Would be cool.

But please, have it be more than just ports.

sweet, it'll be a little faster. but if they wanted to divide the two camps, they really should have given it a heavy upgrade, not a minor push.
>amiibo
hahahahah

this is actually a really good change, especially for left handed people like me. is it worth the upgrade, nah
>the 3d is viewable from all angles
nobody really cares about this, real people just wanna play good games

wow it's 2004 and this does nothing for the system other than making me have to buy new microsd cards instead of using my old sd cards with games on them awesome that sounds great

I was going to get one anyway, so whatever. It just sucks that North America won't get it until 2015 while Japan gets it in a month.
