I'd get a desktop, but I need to travel with it. These are the reasons I want/need a new one:

  • Current laptop is not the best
  • Going to college next year
  • Want the best possible gaming laptop
  • Want a lot of hard drive space for music, games, and whatnot (I'm hoping for an external hard drive for Christmas to hold me over until I get a new laptop)
My first choice is an Alienware M17x, but my friend said that Alienware kind of went downhill since they were bought out by Dell or something. I don't know how accurate that is, but I'm still considering them. The only problem with it is the price, which--after moderate customization--is about $5,300. |: In your suggestions, try to keep them under $5,000 I guess. Thanks.
I dunno hao 2 put imgs heer :(

I've seen ads for laptops with reasonably good processors, 500-800 gigs of storage, 4-8 GB of RAM, and a 1GB graphics card for ~$1500

If you want to play games, here are some specs you want to look for:

Nowadays, it's easy to find one with a 500 GB HDD
A good processor is at least a 2.3 GHz
As for ram, I've found 4 GB to handle stuff nicely
And it shouldn't be too difficult to find one with at least 1 GB of VRAM (512 works decently, but 1 GB is the way to go)

Just make sure it isn't a compaq and you should be okay-and what I listed should go for under $2,000 easily
