Title: KJ's Werewolf - The Cursed Blue Moon
Post by: Dog Food on January 04, 2010, 02:19:12 PM
Le Loup Hurle à la Lune...

Welcome to Gladys Village. It is a small, old-fashioned town. It wouldn't be special, wouldn't be out of the ordinary at all, if it didn't have one small problem... It is manifested with Wolves. Werewolves, to be exact. It's a dog eat dog world and if you don't get your act together, you could be next on the menu.

This is my second Werewolf. Now, I could have made some simple changes to improve upon my old one and present you with this second version, but I didn't. Instead, I thought I'd break away from what I've seen in past Werewolves and experiment some more. What you don't know can't hurt you, right? Let's test this theory. Your only tools to surviving the horrors in Gladys Village is your role, and the villagers you see around you. Like I said, I'm experimenting. I've moved away from the tried and true and am delving into the exciting and unknown. Will you uncover all the secrets before it's too late?

Phases: DAY and NIGHT. Each phase has a specific amount of time to be finished by (I'll announce the times later) - if something is not done within that time, then it's too late. Just like you can not stop time from moving, and can not stop the sun from disappearing to be replaced by the moon, you can not get more time after Day has turned into Night or Night has turned into Day.

NIGHT is split up into a few different phases (in order of appearance): NEW MOON, WAXING MOON, HALF MOON, FULL MOON, BLUE MOON, WANING MOON, HALF MOON, and then back to NEW MOON. If your role does not give a specific moon phase, then treat each phase like a normal night, and you can use your role every night.

Once you are dead and buried, you can no longer speak. Keep that in mind. If you die, forget about this game and move on - no giving all of your information out. It ruins the game and turns you into an poop hole.

Players:
1. JrDude
2. Fox Phantom - White Wolf *Shot, Third Day Phase*
3. JNFS
4. Kaos - Half-Knowing *Shot, First Day Phase*
5. RedSox - Tracker *Shot, Second Day Phase*

7. Rayquarian - Red Wolf *Shot, Fourth Day Phase*
8. SkyMyl
9. Rob - Healer *Black Wolf, Fourth Night Phase*
10. Third K
11. Magnum
12. Live

(Something had been nagging me about this thread, and I realized what it is I forgot to do. Here's your little intro story - it's optional to read. Just skim for the bold, that's where the important stuff will be:)
Prologue - Entering Gladys Village

The jagged blue lightning danced across the black sky... The rain made a soft pitter-patter noise against the muddy ground... I sighed. I had been traveling for days, maybe even weeks. I could no longer remember. I looked at my map again, hiding it carefully under my coat to offer it protection from the downpour. According to my map, there should have been a path about five miles back that would have taken me to a train that could have brought me to the city. I hadn't seen anything.

"That's what you get for failing Geography three times," I mumbled, kicking myself mentally for being so horrible with directions. "And if I don't get out of the rain soon I'll die from pneumonia." So, I continued walking. And walking. And just for a change of pace, I walked some more. Finally I gave up looking at the map (after checking it from every possible angle) and sat under a tree. The thunder rumbled and the lightning lit up the sky. It promised to be a long night...

I must have drifted off to sleep because my eyes suddenly shot open at a noise, and I found that the rain had let up and the storm had ceased. My path was lit up by the full moon in the sky, which gave off an eerie blue light. I shuddered from the cold and massaged my sore neck. Here's a tip: Never fall asleep during a storm under a tree. You'll feel like poop when you wake up and every bone in your body will ache. Then I remembered the noise I had heard and listened carefully. Silence. I sighed; it must have been a dream. I got up and stretched, ready to continue my journey, when I saw something move out of the corner of my eye.

Within seconds my hand went to my waist and a small, silver handgun was in my grip. I had it pointed at the darkness, where I had seen a shadow cast. Nothing. My breathing, which had quickened out of fright, began to return to normal and I put my gun back in its holster. Bad move on my part. Suddenly, without warning, something big ran at me. I let out a short, barely audible gasp before I was brought down by its gigantic paws. I heard a howl, it sounded distant but I knew it was probably ringing in my ears. My eyesight began to fade. There was a blur of blue, a gunshot, and then nothing.

***

"Welcome to Gladys Village."

"W-What?" My eyes fluttered open. Where was I? What happened? It was no longer night, and I was no longer in the woods. It looked like it was early morning, based on the position of the sun, and I was in some sort of town. There were houses and shops around, but I seemed to be in a circular clearing, laying right next to a small water fountain in the middle of the clearing.

"Welcome to Gladys Village, young'un." I looked up to see a round, portly man with a rather large mustache and an even larger top hat in front of me. I realized I must have been in the town square. People were gathering around us. I jumped up, suddenly very self-conscious and turning red. I heard someone snicker and I gave a nasty look in their direction.

"What the hell?" was all I could manage to put together.

"You're in Gladys Village, kid," someone shouted from the growing audience. "How many times does the Mayor have to tell ya?"

"You were attacked by something in the woods," the portly man, who turned out to be the Mayor, said. "You're lucky our Hunter was there with his gun to save you! And you're lucky our Tracker sniffed out the Werewo- er, the thing before it had a chance to sniff you out."

"Werewolf?" I blinked.

The Mayor ignored me. Instead he clapped his hands together, turned to the audience (which was now filled with about ten people, but I wasn't counting) and said, "Now, time for our vote! Since this will be our first one, here's how it works. You just write down the name on a piece of paper, put it in my hat, and I'll read out the votes. You've got until Wednesday evening, folks!"

"Excuse me, Mayor-guy, what's going on?" I asked, trying to act more politely, as hard as that was.

"It's the first vote!" he said cheerily.

"...That's all you have to say?" I asked, annoyance rising in my voice. "Listen, sir, I need some sort of explanation. I was just... There was that blue wolf thing... And then... Well, what the hell happened?"

The Mayor sighed, turned towards me, glanced back at the people who were all busy staring at their papers, then beckoned me to follow him. We walked through town, which was rather plain and boring. There were small huts, some unorganized shops, a farm here and there... Nothing out of the ordinary or that screamed anything other than the word 'plain'.

"Listen," the Mayor began eventually, "I told you what happened. You were attacked, my finest Hunter and Tracker found you and brought you here. What else do you need to know?"

"What about that blue wolf that attacked me," I said. "A blue wolf? And... Where is here?"

The Mayor seemed grim, as if these were the last questions he wished to answer. "This is Gladys Village. A small town pretty far out of the way from other areas. We get by on what we make ourselves and sometimes export for extra cash. As for a blue wolf, that's absurd. You were probably seeing things. It was late. You were attacked by a normal wolf, and that's all." I looked at the Mayor, who seemed a little red and refused to make eye contact with me.

"Well, I know what I saw," I muttered, thinking that he knew more then he was letting on. "What about this vote you are orchestrating?"

"Town matters," he said rather stiffly.

"Fine, fine... Well, do you happen to have a motel or something I can stay in for a bit? I need a rest from all this traveling."

"You can stay at Gladys Inn. We don't get many visitors, so Harold and Ann would be delighted to take in a paying customer." Something in the Mayor's tone hinted that the conversation was over. And sure enough, he stopped walking. He looked up at the musty, creaky old building we had stopped in front of, and I looked at it to. My lips formed a disapproving frown. It looks like I was about to be acquainted with Gladys Inn.

"...Great..." This was going to be a long day.

(Wow, I'm really sorry for this long story. It's basically what you would see going on in your town if you were a part of it, with subtle hints here and there, but it isn't important and I just got carried away and wrote a poopload. These are probably supposed to be short and sweet and to the point, but I just said 'Fuck that' and did the exact opposite. Anyway, just skim to the bold for the information you need to know. Here's Chapter One:)
Chapter One - A Death in Gladys Village

The Mayor had seemed very keen on me staying in my dingy little room in the Inn for the day, but I, unfortunately for him, had other plans. I decided it was time to snoop around and figure out what was going on in Gladys Village before I made the mistake of sticking around any longer. The man and the woman who owned the Inn (Harriet and Arnold, or something like that) were an old couple who spent their days standing around the desolate hunk of wood they called a home, knitting and talking about how much they adored the Mayor. Sure, they seemed like nice, old people (I wouldn't have complained if they ended up being my grandparents), but they'd never win the 'Best Housekeeper' award. It's a shame, because I was pretty sure they were Polish-Americas.

Anyway, they didn't mind me leaving (although I could have sworn the Mayor whispered something about me staying inside to them before leaving to "attend matters in the Town Square"), which was probably when I first decided I really liked them. They might have liked the Mayor, but they believed in freedom more. Thank you, Harry and Mary (or whatever your names are)! So, I followed the yellow path back toward the Town Square, where I was sure the Mayor would be conducting some sort of secret organization that outsiders like me weren't supposed to know about. And the thought of stumbling on something exciting made me curious and eager to get to the bottom of things. As I neared, I could hear loud voices; there seemed to be some sort of riot breaking out.

"You're going to turn on me, after everything I've done for you?" asked one man in a low growl.

"Don't take it personally, Jade," said the man who was standing by the Mayor. "I just have my views and you have yours."

"Don't take it personally!? How can I not take it personally, Reiter, when you are condemning me to death!" I was hiding behind a small shack nearby, and peered from behind it to get a better view of the situation. The man by the Mayor, Reiter, was wearing long, white robes and had silver hair tied into a ponytail. He wore many gold necklaces with weird shapes engraved into them. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was some sort of guru. The man who was yelling at him, Jade, was a large, brawny man with long, jet black hair huge hands and feet. He was nicely dressed despite his greasy outlook.

"Calm down," Reiter said, a clear warning in his tone. "You wouldn't want your supporters thinking you to be a hotheaded wolf, now would you?" He was smirking now as Jade was forced to take long, deep breaths and repress his growing frustration. His fists were clenched and they were shaking, but other than that he looked calm. Reiter laughed, turned towards the Mayor and winked, before walking away.

"Er," the Mayor stuttered, obviously not wanting to openly show support to one man over the other. He looked towards Jade with a slightly frightened expression, before forcing a smile and then turning away.

"So I see how it is," Jade whispered, and then he raised his voice, "It seems like the Mayor is seeing this as an opportunity to get rid of his opponents in office." There was an audible gasp as the people began turning to watch Jade, who had made his way to the center of the stage.

"N-Now now, Jade. Please don't turn this into-"

"Oh, please, Mr. Mayor. I won't be turning this into any more than it is," Jade replied, a small grin breaking through his sallow face. "It just seems to me that what it is, is you and your supporters gaining up on the one man who had a chance in the elections last year. The one man who gathered enough support to actually beat out the incumbent!" He then turned toward the Mayor, anger burning in his eyes, and whispered something into the Mayor's ear that it seemed was so quiet that even the Mayor didn't hear, or at least the Mayor didn't react to what he had to say.

"Well then, Jade," the Mayor growled, clapping his hands together out of habit, "if you're done captivating the crowd with another one of your rabble-rousing speeches, I say it's time to read the votes."

"Go right ahead, Mayor," Jade said, a small smile on his face as he bowed his hand for the Mayor to take the stage. "We're all... dying to hear the results." Quite a few people clapped as Jade left the stage, and he bowed and waved animatedly. It seemed like Jade had won the popular vote, but the Mayor had reason and a more knowledgeable hand in politics on his side.

The Mayor cleared his throat, took his top hat off the table, and began looking at the names on the cards. An intense silence seemed to have washed over the crowd. The people who had been clapping and cheering moments ago, were now sitting in silence and biting in their nails, with the most curious expressions on their faces. I was intrigued. What was this vote? Was it for who would become the next Mayor? Some sort of town event that could change the lives of the people? Seriously, what the intercourse  was going on?

But then I heard a jingling noise that snapped me out of my wondering. I turned my head just in time to see the guru walking swiftly past me, with a man in a strange costume and a hat with bells on it walking by. I dove behind the bushes, just as they stopped to talk behind the building I had just been hiding behind. They were only about five feet away from me, and I could hear parts of what they were saying. Reiter's back was to me, and he was the one talking, but the weird-looking man seemed overjoyed by whatever Reiter had to say.

"Oh thank you, thank you!" he cried, jumping up and down. He was clutching some sort of necklace unlike the ones that Reiter wore in his hand.

"Sh!" Reiter said, bringing a finger up to his mouth. "I like you, and that is why I've decided to help you. But don't tell anyone else about this. I can't have a mob of people asking for favors. Understand, Miles?"

"Of course, of course!" Miles sang. He was hopping on one foot, then he was twirling himself around by his finger, and then he was humming a tune. And I had thought Jade was an animated man. Silly me. Then again, I had also thought Reiter wore a strange outfit. Now that I had a clearer look at Miles, Reiter walked swiftly away and let Miles celebrate by himself, he had a stranger outfit, too. In fact, he looked almost like some sort of... clown.

"We have the results!" I heard the Mayor's booming voice cry out. Miles jumped up at the noise, lost his balance and tripped, falling head first into the bushes.

"Ow!" we both yelled at the same time.

"Ah!" Miles screeched, jumping out of the bushes and backing against the wall. "W-Who are y-you!?"

"I'm the newcomer," I said, a little more forcefully than I should have as I rubbed my head in pain. "Do you have to be so jumpy?"

"S-Sorry ma'am! I didn't know anyone would be in the bushes..."

"It's fine," I sighed, feeling bad for hurting the fragile man's feelings. But then I had an idea, and I looked up at Miles with a sudden greediness that he jumped again out of fright. "Hold onto the ground there, Miles. I have a few questions for you..."

"N-Now, ma'am? There are about to read the votes!"

"Actually, that's what I wanted to talk about. What are these votes that the Mayor is being so secretive about?"

"Oh, no, no, no, no... I-I couldn't be the one to... Sorry ma'am, you're on your own. Gotta go, bye!"

"Wait a second there, Jumpy!" I called out, and he stopped, albeit, reluctantly. "If you don't tell me, I'll reveal that little chat you had with Sir Reiter the Sneaky."

"Oh! You know about that?"

"...Did you forget I was right there in those bushes?" I suddenly felt as if I placed my trust into the wrong guy.

"Oh, right. Well, I wasn't sure. It's rude to eavesdrop, you know."

"And it's rude to dive head first at someone. And to keep secrets. But I won't tell if you'll just give me this teeny-tiny bit of information."

"Mmf... Fine," Miles said, and he gasped in exasperation. "But I can't tell you now. I need to be there when they announce the person with the most votes or I'll look suspicious!" Before I could say another word, McAntsy was running off, bouncing off buildings and tripping over rocks as he made it back to the Town Square. I sighed; it looks like I'd have to wait a little longer than I wanted for my answers.

"With quite a few votes," the Mayor droned on, and I settled behind the building to listen, "and the unfortunate winner... Well, I'm sorry Kasey, but..."

"No!" screamed a mousy haired man in the front row. "No, no, no! Please, sir, it wasn't me! I didn't have anything to do with it! Mr. Mayor, I have some information that could help you! Please don't take me, please no!"

"I'm so sorry, my dear boy..." The Mayor seemed to be choking on his words as a man whose face was concealed by a black fedora brought the man named Kasey up to the front where the Mayor stood. The Mayor looked at the man who brought the boy up, seemed to silently ask him something, to which the man with the fedora nodded.

"Okay then," the Mayor said in a rather hoarse voice. "It was very close... I'm so sorry my dear old friend. I do not believe it is you. I did not vote for you. But I can't be making all the decisions... This is a democracy. Oh, please stop crying like that! Die with dignity, god dangit!"

"No, no, no..." Kasey kept on muttering, tears running down his face. The man with the fedora hat stood about ten paces away from Kasey, and I suddenly realized he had a revolver in his hand. What was he going to do with that? He was raising it in the air, pointing it at Kasey who looked at the ground, tears dripping down his face... It seemed as if Kasey knew something really bad was about to happen... Wait a second, the man wasn't going to-

There was a loud blast and a thud. Some people gasped, others turned away into their loved ones, some watched detachedly. My mouth was hanging open as I realized what happened. The people cleared the area quickly, most not saying a word, others praying kindly for Kasey, some with tears in their eyes as they said over and over how they thought he was a werewolf and they were so sorry that they were wrong.

The only person who stayed at the scene was the murderer, the man with the fedora hat. The Mayor had cleared out the area, too. I couldn't wait any longer. I left the safety of the building, and walked right up to the spot were Kasey once stood. There was now a bloody, headless body on the ground.

"He was supposed to transform," the man grunted. I looked up at him and blinked. But I didn't say anything. He turned to look at me, his face still hidden behind his hat, but he said, "Oh, you're the newcomer. I thought you were..." but his sentenced trailed off as he looked at the deformed figure laying on the floor. "Doesn't matter, I guess. We were wrong. He was a good guy. We were wrong."

"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice shaking slightly.

"We're catching werewolves," he said, glancing back at me. "If I recall, you're the girl we saved only a few hours ago. Too frightened to brave the road again knowing now the creatures that haunt it?"

"Werewolves?" I asked. I seemed to remember hearing that name come up a few times. In fact, one of the people exiting the square used that word, I was sure of it. "So, it was a blue werewolf..."

"Blue? Maybe. Never heard of a wolf other than a gray one before though."

"You're the Hunter?" I asked, eager now for more information as fast as I could get it, and ignoring any comments that disagreed with the fact that I had seen a blue wolf (because I knew I saw one, no matter how many people told me I was wrong).

"Yeah," he said, looking back at the body he had just mangled. "I used a silver bullet, in case it was a werewolf. It wasn't."

"How do you know?" I asked, my curiosity kicking in again.

"He didn't transform. If he was a werewolf, he would have transformed."

"So, who was he?"

"He was the Half-Knowing," a new voice said.
I turned around to see a man dressed in similar clothes to Reiter. In fact, he looked exactly like Reiter, except his voice had drastically changed. It was a lighter, calmer voice, rather than Reiter's dark and deep one.

"Who are you?" I asked, defensively.

"I am Spencer, the Seer," he said, opening his arms in a way of welcoming the world into them.

"Reiter's twin brother," the Hunter added. "Don't wanna get the two confused, or they might hit you over the head with your own gun."

"My brother would do that," Spencer corrected. "I will merely laugh and nod along."

"Yeah, well... We did bad today, Spencer. The Half-Knowing could have helped us a lot," the Hunter said with a sigh.

"Yes, well. That is what happens when we use these brutal means to uncover the bad. Let us hope he passed his knowledge onto someone good before meeting his end..."

"What can the Half-Knowing do?" I asked, feeling out of the loop, and although I found these questions to be inappropriate I couldn't help but ask.

"He knew two names. One good and one evil. But he did not know which. An interesting prize the Gods gave him. Deadly to the bad if he used it wisely, deadly to the good if he did not."

"Yeah, well... You two should probably get out of here. I'll clean up and take Kasey to the cemetery... Give him a proper burial and all that..."

"Good night, my friend. Do not feel guilty for his death, you could not have known." And with that, Spencer the Seer was gone.

"Nice to meet you," I said, suddenly feeling bad for the Hunter, who seemed to be taking it hard that he had killed an innocent man. "And thank you, for saving me and all that."

"Heh, no problem, kid." The Hunter then turned around toward the body. Before I left, he added, "I'd get out of here, and stay inside. You never know the creatures that prowl this area at night."

I left with my mind buzzing too fast for me to comprehend. Werewolves in Gladys Village? The Mayor must not have wanted the news out to outsiders... He didn't want potential visitors knowing of their problems. And now I was in danger. Crap. I made it back to the Inn in one piece and without disturbance. But the night was beginning to fall, and I could see an outline of the New Moon as I closed the door to the Inn and walked upstairs to my bed.

I had been wrong before. This wasn't going to be a long day. This was going to be the most intercourse ed up and yet most enthralling and probably the longest god darn experience of my life. Why was it that I couldn't stop smiling?

**KAOS died with about three votes in the lead of the next in line. He was the Half-Knowing. It is now the Night Phase, and it is the New Moon. This phase will end on Friday, around the same time as this post (check the time stamp). Once again, I'll end it earlier if everything is completed before the given date.**

Clearly, this Werewolf is indirectly inspired by Metal Gear Solid 4, AKA the greatest movie of all time. Hence the length of the stories, which, like MGS4, are well thought out and detailed, brimming with character.

(This came late, due to random plans that came up, but finally here's the update. If you bother with the story you'll find that it's short and not much really happened, although there is a lot I could have added, but unfortunately the character had a run-in with the wrong people, causing her journey to end shorter. I basically write these off of the top of my head, so that explains a lot, too. Anyway, the results:)
Chapter One - Part Two - A Night in the Life

I couldn't go to sleep that first night. With a groan from the rickety old bed, I slipped into the bathroom. I wasn't surprised to find that the bathroom was in as bad shape (if not worse) as the rest of the place. The sink sprayed out bits of brown water, if anything at all, and the shower's settings went from 'Cold' to 'Colder' and, my personal favorite, 'Coldest'. I grimaced as I touched a wet, slimy substance when cleaning the foggy mirror and decided a walk outside would be much more sanitary than the dilapidated Inn. The owners of the Inn must have been in bed, and I had an easy time getting out of the place.

Outside it was dark. There weren't any streetlamps, and there was only a faint outline of a dark moon in the sky. The New Moon. I squinted into the darkness ahead of me, feeling the chill of the wind on my cheek. I shivered and blinked to gain some focus. My eyes would adjust eventually, but I was beginning to feel uneasy. After all, what was it that Hunter had said?  'You never know the creatures that prowl this area at night.'

I bit my lip and wondered if I should turn back. I glanced behind me, but the road was engulfed by blackness. I sighed and decided to just keep on walking. I had needed time to think, after all. I had to think about what was going on and what was my part in all of it. Werewolves were attacking the village and that blue wolf had almost gotten me. Did the Hunter kill it? I never found out...

The image of that wolf flashed in front of my eyes, and I gasped. I jumped back, tripped over a rock, and fell into a pile of branches (otherwise known as bushes). "Ow," I muttered, pushing the branches out of my face and peering into the unknown. "Did I just see...?" But the night was silent and calm. I slowly lifted myself up and plucked some of the pine out of my hair. "Great, I startled myself..." I yawned and turned around, my fears and suspicions were getting the best of me, and I decided to toss and turn in my smelly old bed until I drifted off.

But, it seemed, another surprised awaited me.

"Hello, young one," came a deep, throaty voice surprisingly close to me. "I'm sorry, but you aren't going anywhere." My eyes were shut tight and my whole body must have been shaking. I felt hot air creep slowly up my arm and I knew whoever this person was, they were right next to me.

"Um," I stuttered, my eyes still closed (there was still a small chance I could have been dreaming, right?), and my mind wandering off to where I left my gun. In the moldy drawer next to my bed. Damn. "I'd stay back," I bluffed, opening my eyes slowly, "or you'll force me to go to drastic measures."

"Heh," came the hoarse chuckle, "and what will you do - poke me with your small, incapable human finger? Or perhaps you'd like to entertain me with the abilities of your opposable thumbs?"

And that's when it was clear to me what was going on. My fears had been realized. I was talking to a werewolf. Part of me had wanted a moment to face off against the terrible beast, but I had wanted time to prepare, to make sure I knew everything before allowing my reckless side to take control... Apparently it was fated for my face-off to come a little earlier than I would have liked, but when has fate ever been kind?

"Now, now, don't be frightened," the werewolf said in a not-so-soothing tone, "I won't be hurting you tonight."

I turned my head, finally, to face the beast. All I could see was a pair of bright yellow eyes staring back at me a few feet away, along with shiny, white fangs. "Why's that?" I asked, my fists clenching as I gained some courage now that I could see what I was facing (well, it was really only an outline - too dark to really see anything).

"I had other matters to attend to tonight," the werewolf said
, it's jaw moving ever so slightly to make words. "You and the other villagers are lucky. But I can't allow you to just go, after seeing me. It's a shame, my escape was almost without a hitch..."

"So that was you?" I asked, remembering that I had seen a hint of something running off into the woods. "I thought it was that blue wolf..." I noticed those gleaming, yellow eyes grew a little wider, if only for a second, before returning to normal. I raised an eyebrow at him, but said nothing. Come on, this giant black werewolf didn't believe I had seen a blue wolf either? I was beginning to feel desperate for at least one supporter. I mean, I know I saw it! It was definitely blue! Come on...

"I-" but there was a noise and the werewolf stopped talking and bent down low, until I could see his long, bushy tail swaying in the wind. I followed suit, although it probably would have been smarter to run out and yell, "HELP ME! HELP! THERE'S A FREAKIN' GIANT ASS BLACK CREATURE BACK THERE! IT'S GOING TO EAT EVERYONE! GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!" Oh well.

I saw outlines of two people running, the first was wearing a hat with a feather sticking out of it and the second seemed to be carrying some sort of binoculars or glasses in their hand. The man with the hat soon was out of sight, but the second man slowed down and came to a complete stop just before leaving out of sight like the man before him.

"What is it, Hadley?" called the man out of sight, and I recognized the deep, quiet voice from somewhere, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

"Something," mutter Hadley, and he put a finger to his lips as he raised the binocular-like object to his face. "There." I glanced at the werewolf, who seemed to be deep in thought.

"I will not be captured tonight," he growled. "I should have been out of here already, if it weren't for you."

"So it's my fault?" I asked in my annoyed voice (it's frequently used, if you haven't noticed). "Oh, I'm so sorry I prevented you from running away from a crime scene, your Wolfiness. Why don't I lie down, marinade myself, and make me into a nice dinner for you to take home too, while I'm at it?"

"It's a wolf!" Hadley yelled. "And... And someone else is with it!"

"Untransformed?"

"Yes!"

I gasped and looked up, two men were running towards us. The werewolf howled and jumped at me. I screamed, but was silenced by an unforgiving paw. I fell onto the cold, muddy ground, blood trickling from the gash in my head.

**No one died. Other stuff happened for them to know and you to find out. Day Phase begins now and will end Monday, January 11th, at around 5 PM Eastern.**
Chapter Two - Part One - One Bad Head Ache

My head was beating in sync with my heart. I groaned and turned over in my bed. Instead of my back meeting the soft mattress, I felt myself drop and landed on some sort of hard surface. I jumped up in surprise and then felt the blood rush to my head. I groaned and sat back down, my eyes closed and my hands rubbing my temples. The thing was, I couldn't feel my temples. Instead, there was some sort of wrap around my head.

I opened my eyes and looked around, the confusion only causing my head to hurt even more. I must have been having one hell of a migraine. What did I do - get drunk and attempt to break a concrete brick with my head again? I groaned and put my face in my hands.

"Oh good, you're awake," came a voice nearby. I jumped. Why was someone else in my room? I turned around to face them and was surprised by who I saw. It was that man I had never actually met, but spied upon. The man who had provoked that other guy and who had had that secret conversation with the weird, jumpy guy that I never saw again... Hey, wasn't that jumpy guy supposed to give me answers? Oh well, I guess I didn't need them anymore.

"Oh, uh," I started, unsure of what to say. He didn't know that I knew him. I guess it didn't matter, since I couldn't remember his name, anyway. "...Hello?"

He gave a small smile and waved his hand, offering me a seat on the hard couch nearby. I sunk into it, not even realizing how tired I had been. But then I realized that I couldn't possibly be in my room at the Inn. That couch was way too clean. I must have been sleeping on his small, clean bed in his small, clean room. It didn't look much different from my own place. It was quaint, quiet, small, but it was clean. I let out a relieved sigh as I reveled in how well-kept the place was.

"You don't know me," the man continued, sitting down nearby, "and you don't need to." His voice was harsh, but he looked at me with warmth and I was okay with his voice because his face seemed to apologize for the way he sounded.

"Um okay," I said, my head still a little foggy, "but do you mind answering some of my other questions?"

"Try me," he said, giving me a straight face and seeming to brace himself for my questions. His seriousness struck me as funny and I giggled, but covered my mouth with my hand and turned it into a cough. "...You should get something for that cold," he added, pursing his lips.

"Right... I'll get right on that. Sorry. In the mean time-"

"Actually," he interrupted, now seeming to busy himself with his hands, "I could fix it for you right now."

"Oh no, don't go through the trouble... I don't really like cough medicine. It tastes like, I don't know what, but it's gross." The room seemed to get darker suddenly and I looked around for the source. "It looks like your lights are getting weak..." But then, as if my words had offended them, they shone brighter than ever before, blinding me. "Uh, never mind then... But they could tone it down a little..."

I felt something like hot iron grab my head and I screamed. I jumped up and attempted to pry whatever it was off of me, thinking of the Black Wolf and shaking my head in pain. Excruciating pain.

"Calm down!" I heard in the distance. It was a far away voice, amidst the bright, blinding white light. I couldn't calm down. The Black Wolf was attacking me again. It was going to finish the job. I scratched and screamed and kicked and bit. Whatever it took to get the hands off of me. ...Wait a second. There were hands on me? I felt myself go limp as I realized that whatever had me, it was human. I could take a human.

"Jesus," the man muttered, and as he released his grip from me and I could see and think clearly, I noticed he was bleeding a little.

"I...I remember what happened..." I whispered, shaking my head which no longer felt as if a tree had fallen on top of it. "What... What did you do? Oh! And, uh, sorry for putting up so much of a fight..."

"No problem," he said stiffly, applying various ointments to his injuries, "I probably should have expected someone who survived a werewolf attack to be strong, and therefore should have warned you of what I was going to do."

"If you can... heal, I guess... then why can't you heal your own injuries like you did to my head?" I asked, my curiosity back along with my solo heart beat.

"The art of healing is both a gift and a curse," he responded as he dabbed at his last cut. "To save the lives of others, I must immerse myself in their pain. You may have caused a scratch that for most men would only survive a few days, but these will most likely be here for the rest of the month if I don't care for myself."

"Oh, I'm sorry," I apologized, my head drooping slightly. The Healer had cured my beating from the werewolf, but I had gotten whatever I could out of him in the process. "Where I come from, it's 'Show no Mercy'."

"Sounds like a lovely place," he said with obvious contempt, and I laughed.

"Nah, it was a poophole. I'd take the Black Wolf over home any time."

"Don't speak too lightly. You may have the chance," he warned, and I reached to my head as the memory of that gigantic paw flawlessly cutting into me resurfaced. I closed my eyes and shuddered.

"Yeah," I whispered, blinking away my thoughts.

There was a knock at the door. The Healer excused himself and went to the door. Being the eavesdropper that I was, and bored, I moved to the side of the couch closer to the door and strained my ears to hear what was going on.

"Is she hear?" came a familiar voice, in almost a whisper.

"Yes," the Healer replied. "Healed, of course."

"We came to talk to her," came the gruff voice of someone else, and I was almost positive I knew who that was.

"I don't know about now," the Healer replied, his hands gripping tighter on the door.

"She knows something!" hissed the first man. "We need to figure it out before the details get murky, you know that!"

"Calm down, Hadley," the second man said. Then to the Healer, "Why don't we let her decide if she wishes to speak to us?"

"Fine, whatever," the Healer said, opening the door wider for the two men to come inside. Then I remembered who they were. Hadley was the man with the weird binoculars from the night before, and the man with him was the Hunter.

"Hey, kid," the Hunter said, giving me a wink. I nodded back at him, then turned toward the man they called Hadley. He was tall and skinny, wearing a red baseball cap and chewing on some gum. He was wearing jeans that had bulging pockets, stuffed full with more trinkets like those binoculars, no doubt. He was wearing many things, too. Not like the Healer, who wore necklaces that seemed to emit an ominous meaning. No, Hadley had devices and mechanisms that looked like they were made to track something.

"You're the Tracker," I said suddenly, looking at Hadley. The Hunter smirked, and the Healer claimed his seat next to mine.

"That only took her five seconds to figure out," the Hunter said. "I told you, Hadley, you need to wear normal clothes in the day time."

"Shh, we don't want the others knowing of my secret identity," Hadley joked with a short smile and a dramatic bow. "Actually my name is Bolton. Bolton Hadley. By night, I assume under the name of 'The Tracker' and terrorize evil with my..."

"Sharp wit," offered the Healer sarcastically.

"More like big mouth," the Hunter corrected. The two looked at each other and exchanged small chuckles, but Bolton Hadley rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"Binoculars?" I said, remembering the things he had used to find the Black Wolf the night before. "Well, they were helpful last night, at least."

"Oh, did you like them? I invented them myself!" Hadley said with excitement. He wiped them out from underneath his shirt. "You see, with the infrared you can see in the dark, and with this button right here you can zoom in and zoom out. Then over here there's a button that..." I glanced over at the Hunter and Healer, who had closed their eyes and seemed to be sleeping. I gulped, not feeling like I knew him well enough to act that openly bored, but also wishing he would shut up about things I didn't understand.

"Uh," I stammered, "t-that's really cool, but... Didn't you come to ask me some questions?"

"Ah yes, the young one is very right," the Healer said, jumping in rather quickly.

"And also seems to have some big ears," the Hunter added.

"I'm not that young, and how can I not hear with 'Mr. Big Mouth' doing the talking..." I mumbled, crossing my arms and pouting. Then louder, "Yeah, well... What is it you guys wanted?"

"Okay, let's get right into business then," Hadley said, putting his binoculars away. "You were with the Black Wolf... What were you doing?"

"Uh, nothing," I said. "We were... talking, I guess."

"Talking? You talked to the Black Wolf?" Hadley and the Hunter exchanged looks, but the Healer remained still, staring at the open fire in his small fireplace.

"Well, yeah. He told me that he wasn't going to kill anyone that night... that he 'had other matters to attend to' and then he said he couldn't let me go after I had seen him..."

"So he was going to kill you?" Hadley asked.

"Don't be so blunt, Hadley," the Hunter growled. Hadley glanced in his direction, then gave the shortest of nods.

"Right. What do you think he was planning, then?"

"I don't think he was going to kill me. He definitely had the chance, though. He was going to tell me something else. He started talking, but you started shouting and running towards us. He didn't have much time, so he knocked me out and left." I remembered everything so clearly in that moment, it was like I was there. I shivered again at his gleaming yellow eyes.

"You saw us there, and you didn't call out for help?" Hadley asked, stroking his chin in thought.

I suddenly felt as though I were on trial. "No, I guess I was too scared to yell. Plus I didn't want to do anything that would end my life sooner."

"I thought you said you didn't think he was going to kill you?"

"How am I supposed to know?" I asked, my voice growing louder and my face burning. "I didn't think he would, but I can't be too careful. It may be surprising to wrap your big ol' head around, but I'm not a big fan of dying."

"Fine, fine. But what about-"

"That's enough questions for one day," the Hunter said, stepping in between the two of us. "The voting will begin soon and we do not want to be late."

"Oh, right. Do you guys do that every day?" I asked, getting up and stretching, glaring one last time at Hadley. He smiled sheepishly at me and shrugged. It was probably his job to interrogate so harshly, but I still found it annoying.

"Unfortunately," the Hunter growled. "Come on, Hadley. Let's go." The two of them gave their goodbyes and then were off.

"I'm going in a few moments as well," the Healer added in his calm, low voice. "I will escort you there."

"Thanks," I said, smiling.

"You should probably wash up for the day, as well," he added, looking at me up and down. I felt myself turn red, and realized I hadn't examined myself since before the wolf attack. What did I look like now? "You look fine," he added with a smile when he noticed me worrying. "I just meant change into clothes you can wear outside. What you're wearing are some of my old robes."

I hadn't even been paying attention to what I was wearing. I looked down now to see I was wearing a blue robe with light swirls in it, gold trimming and a gold rope holding it all together. Underneath, I was wearing nothing. My eyes widened and I looked back over at the Healer, but he was gone. I opened my mouth, just because I felt like I needed to say something, even if he wasn't there, but no words came out. I stood there for a moment, contemplating the other ways I could have went from my old clothes into these robes without him have being there, but they all seemed to involve some other guy changing me, which wasn't any better. I groaned and sunk back down into the couch, needing a moment before I could even think about getting ready.

"Today's gonna be a long day," I sighed.

***

The square was packed. I continued to pick at the large red scar across my forehead, and the Healer repeatedly grabbed my hand. I felt like a little child trying to touch the hot stove, and the mother continuing to take their hand and put it back down, saying, "No, it's too hot. Don't touch it, sweetie." Eventually, he just didn't let go of my hand. I struggled for a few moments as we were walking into the square. I didn't need the people I had yet to meet begin to call me 'Reiter's Little Something from the City' or something like that. But I got tired out, and we walked into the square hand-in-hand, as embarrassing as it was.

"The scar isn't bad," he whispered into my ear.

"You also said I looked good," I muttered, rolling my eyes. "Obviously, Healers are meant to calm people's emotions with their smooth talk and lies, as well as heal people's physical states with their powers." That couldn't have been a lie. There was no way I had looked good. My brown hair was tangled, some of it stuck in the bloody mess of a scar (which, the Healer told me, would take another week or so of healing processes to fix - apparently 'Wolf Wounds' have some sort of magical-blah-blah-ness to them or something that makes them difficult to fix, or whatever. But I'm not bitter about it. Not. At. All.), and I looked white as a ghost and as tired as a zombie from all that I had been through. If the people had gotten a good look at me, I'm sure they all would have switched my name to their papers. Thankfully, the Healer said I could hang back and watch from a distance.

I stopped walking when we got to the back of the crowd. He nodded and settled down. I sighed and followed suit, sitting in the soft grass. The Mayor, with his top hat on the side of the fountain, was waiting patiently. But he looked nervous. Who could blame him after their last failure where an Innocent had died. Kasey... The memory of his bloody face, no longer recognizable after the shot went through his head and I shut my eyes tight and refused to allow myself to break down.

"You okay?" the Healer asked as he stood up. I nodded and rubbed my eyes, then yawned to feign tiredness. "I'll be right back, have to put my vote in." He walked away with a slip in his hand, and I leaned back to enjoy a moment alone.

But apparently (wait for it - here comes another thing that annoys me), some people didn't understand the objective of closing your eyes and laying in the cool, jade grass. "That's the new girl," someone whispered. I turned my head and furrowed my eyebrows, barely listening to the audible voices around me.

"I hear she's an outcast of the wolves," someone else added.

"Yeah, she was part of the tribe but tried to go solo and they attacked her."

"Look! I see her scar!"

"Why would the Mayor allow this beast into our village!?"

"And she came right after the ec-"

"Shut up! We shouldn't talk about that... Not here..."

I jumped up, suddenly enraged. "What the hell are you idiots staring at?" I yelled, and the ones who hadn't been looking sure as hell were now. "What, do you want to throw some apples or your darn cards at me or something? I'm not a gosh darned werewolf. I'm a traveler from the city. If you believe this scar is from me being disloyal to my pack, then you're one dumb intercourse . I was attacked by a ruthless being. I survived, and I should be a symbol of... of god-intercourse ing-darn Hope. Not this bullpoop you guys are talking about. I met the Black Wolf. Face-to-face. And I survived. If you guys think I'm some sort of wolf with teeth and fangs, then go ahead and vote for me. Waste another day. See if I give a flying intercourse ."

There was silence after my speech. It was basically me standing there, probably giving the angriest, most wolf-ish look in the world, standing there and convincing every last person there that I was indeed a wolf, when suddenly, I heard clapping. I scanned the crowd, looking for the source, when I saw the man who had stood on the stage yesterday, giving a compelling speech to the crowd: Jade.

"That," he said, a smile on his face, "was a great speech. Now, I've done a speech or two to be proud of. But you have heart. And courage, I may add. You stood before a group of people, openly spouting rumors about you, and you faced Death itself- for these people can surely choose your fate if they so wish- and you talked right back. I am thoroughly impressed, Miss."

"Yeah well, instinct, I guess," I muttered, scratching my head and sitting back down. My face was red by now and I began looking at the ground and picking at the grass.

"And I can vouch for her," called the Healer from the water fountain. "After her attack she was brought back to my place where she was supervised by me the entire night. She did not transform. And as you know, they do not transform at will. They transform when the moon reaches its greatest height in the sky. Whether they like it or not." He glanced at Jade, who was looking down, holding onto his right shoulder with his left hand.

"That's right, Reiter," Jade replied. "You are very right." The two made their way toward each other, and after a long pause, shook hands. Then, awkwardly, they made their way back to their seats.

"Thanks," I said to the Healer, still red.

"What happened to not wanting attention drawn towards you?" he asked in his harsh voice, but his smile made up for it, and I smiled back.

"W-Well," the Mayor said, coughing. "I think we've had enough speeches for one day, so I'm just going to go ahead with the vote. Let me just tally these things up... Hm, not that many votes this time around. And you were given extra time, too. Ah well. Let's see here... Oh." He looked out into the audience, his eyes rather wide and his face falling. The news didn't look good.

"B-Bolton... Bolton Hadley," the Mayor called. No one moved, nothing happened. "Bolton Hadley! Goddarn it, Tom! B-Bring Bolton up!"

There was a rustle of movement and the Hunter grabbed Hadley's arm. But then he let go. "No," the Hunter said. "No, I won't."

"You have to," the Mayor replied. "It's the code."

"Fuck the code."

"Tom," Hadley whispered. "It's the code. I have to."

"Bolton," the Hunter, who I was starting to realize was named Tom, "I'll hold them off. Run!" Tom turned around to face the crowd, taking his gun out. A few people screamed and scattered, but Bolton did not move.

"It is my fate to die tonight," he said quietly. Tom seemed to be frozen in place, he pulled his hat farther down on his head, still in a stance ready to shoot anyone at any time. But Bolton pulled the gun away, slowly but steadily. "Goodbye, Tom. Remember what we've been fighting for. Remember everything we've found out. You can do this, I know you can." And then he took the revolver and brought it level to his own head. He stared right down into the blackness of the revolver, his face blank, almost tranquil, as he waited for death to come.

And then he pulled the trigger.

I did not watch as Bolton Hadley, the Tracker, shot himself square between the forehead. I did not watch as Tom, the Hunter, cried out in painful shock and run to his friend. I did not watch as the others began getting up and walking away, muttering about another unsuccessful gathering. I did not watch as someone took my hand and led me away. I did not watch where we were going. I did not watch the tears roll down my face. I did not watch.

I knew that one. I knew his name. I knew his profession. I could have told any one of them he was not the one they were looking for. I knew.

I went to bed in Reiter's house that night. Although sleep did not come. The tears came, but sleep did not. I sat there in silence, allowing the tears to roll down my cheek. I did not watch a man die tonight, and yet I saw his death only too clearly in my mind. Closing my eyes only made his face, bloodied and misshapen with a gaping hole in the center and his binoculars hanging off of his neck, come to my mind only too easily. It was like Kasey, only with Bolton Hadley's body.

The tears were still rolling as I drifted off into an uneasy sleep.

**Bolton Hadley AKA RedSox has been shot. He was the Tracker. May he rest in peace in the Gladys Village Cemetery. Night Phase starts now. It's the Waxing Moon. Night Phase ends Wednesday around 5 PM Eastern.**
(Are you ready for the next exciting installment of this Werewolf Epic!? Or, should I say, are you ready to see who got mercilessly gnawed to death tonight!? I'm sure you are! So, enjoy it. And if you died, then still enjoy it, just don't enjoy it as much as the others. Got that? Good. Here we go:)
Chapter Two - Part Two - Nightmares

"Do we really need these nightly sessions?" I asked with a wide yawn, my eyes half-closed and my brain barely processing.

"Yes," came the Healer's curt reply. I sighed as my eyes drooped again and I began to drift off...

I was floating on a rather large banana, a wide grin on my face as I felt the wind rush through my hair. "This is the life," I sighed happily, maneuvering the giant yellow fruit so that we did not get squished by trees. The sun was out, beating down warmly at us, and the sky was blue. Nothing could ruin this day, nothing...

"Wake up," the Healer called out, shaking me softly. I groaned, but opened my eyes and allowed the dream to leak away.

"I don't see why I need to be awake for this," I asked as the Healer placed a glowing hand on my scar. It felt warm and soothing, making my mind begin to buzz and my eyes slipped close again.

I dismounted off of my banana as it began to rain. I hid it in a conveniently placed cave, then began my journey on foot. The sun was gone, and the sky had been painted black, but I retained my smile and I walked at an upbeat pace. I had to find the River King, and no one could stop me...

"If you sleep, your brain won't process my healing," the Healer whispered as he shook me again. "So stay awake unless you want that scar on your head forever."

"Fine..." I muttered, in a voice reserved for someone mumbling nonsense in their sleep. "But I can't be gone long, or my banana will be destroyed and the River King won't accept my gift...

"I think you're mixing reality with dreams," the Healer said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Nuh-uh," I argued, my eyes closed again. "The River King is right up ahead... Let's go..."

Reiter was there with me now, too. We were walking together, hand in hand, smiling without a care in the world. My vision seemed to be red now, though, and my sight was detached from my body. I was watching in third person, now. Reiter stopped to take the image of me and we rolled behind a tree, laughing. It cut off my view, so I began to stalk them, not wanting to disturb them with a sound.

But then I heard a twig crack, and my ears perked up. I turned around and sniffed the air. 'Meat...' I thought, a toothy grin covering my face. I got down low, on my belly, and began to quietly slither around and under the trees and branches, like a snake. Someone was up ahead, I could smell them, and my entire body shook with the anticipation of the kill. I was going to sink my fangs into them, taste their succulent blood, and have a grand feast like a bloody killer should. Being without a leader had its perks, after all.

And there they were. A person with short brown hair hidden behind a brown cap, wearing a trench coat and jeans with a handsome face stood there, examining a tree with a small cut on it, the smallest of traces I left behind. This wasn't the Tracker, the Tracker was dead. But he seemed to be doing his job well enough. This must have been the Detective, with his clues and his brain, waiting and wondering who the real killers were - rather than mindlessly voting like the other village slobs. He could be admired for that by someone else, though. I only cared about what that meat hidden underneath his clothes tasted like. It smelled so good...

I pounced. There was a stifled cry, the distinct taste of that crimson liquid as it sunk into my jaws, and energy from the beating waxing moon above me gave me life. I was all powerful. The red from the mangled corpse below me covered my murky coat in red. Anyone who saw me would remember the sticky substance hanging off my fur, drying into a dark crimson. For I was the Red Wolf, and no one could destroy me.

"Hey, hey!" I was being shook awake once again. I groaned, patting away the fervent arm. But then, in the blackness of my vision I saw my dream, and my eyes shot open.

"I-I-I," I sputtered, my mouth open wide in shock. "T-The... No... I didn't... What just happened? Where are we?"

"Calm down," came the soothing voice of the Healer, and calmness washed over me. I felt myself breathing deeply and shaking, but I managed to understand.

"I was dreaming... How long did I doze off for?" I asked, sudden urgency in my voice.

"Only five minutes. You were in a heavy sleep, took me forever to get you up," he replied, dipping his hands in a bowl of water. "But we're done with healing for now, anyway. You're too difficult to work with at night, apparently."

"The Red Wolf," I whispered, barely listening to the Healer.

"What?" he asked, his expression stiffening.

"We have to go out, into the woods!" I shouted, getting up. "We have to make sure everything's alright!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," the Healer said, putting his hands up in defense. "You really want to go out there after what happened last time? Don't worry about the people, we've got the Hunter out on patrol. We may be down one man now, but I still think we'll be able to manage."

"You don't understand... I saw it..."

"Saw what?"

"That thing! It was small and lean, but it had fangs deadlier than a shark's, and it was quiet and stealthy and quick. And its coat... It's coat was covered in the blood of its victim... I saw it... The Red Wolf..."

"Did you see the victim?" he asked. His tone was gentle, as if he was listening to a crazy person and playing along for their sake, not his. It made me angry and I needed him to understand.

"A detective it looked like," I said, and so he knew how sure I was, "He was wearing a cap and a trench coat and seemed to be studying some marks on a tree the wolf left behind in the woods. We have to go there, maybe we can still save him!"

"That does sound like Detective Levin," the Healer mumbled, stroking his chin.

"Please can we check it out?" I asked, my lip trembling and my eyes widening into that puppy dog stare that no man can resist.

"Ugh, fine, if you'd wipe that disgusting look off your face," he said, sticking his tongue out but grinning. I managed a small smile back, but the details of my dream were still in my head. I had been the Red Wolf, murdering that poor man... Why was this happening?

***

Well, we found him out in those woods. Detective Levin, just a mangled corpse. His outfit was still there, with all of his detective tools and whatnot, but his body was gone. The Healer was curiously surprised and the Hunter was enraged. I don't know what I felt. Scared, maybe. But not fearful for my life. No. I was afraid of myself. My dream had felt so real. I had felt so excited at the prospect of tearing apart a man and eating his insides while his scream rattled his own bones as I smiled in delight. I felt guilt, too. Maybe if I had never had that dream, the Detective wouldn't have died. Maybe it was all my fault.

I didn't talk while we were out in the woods, or when the Healer and the Hunter discussed things. I didn't even listen to their conversation, and ignored them when they said something to or pertaining to me. During the walk back to Reiter's place, he seemed to glance at me curiously from time to time. But I ignored him. I didn't want anyone to ask me how I knew, and maybe that's what scared me the most.

All I knew, as exciting and adventurous Gladys Village promised to be, I needed to get the intercourse  out.

**JNFS was killed tonight. He was the Detective. Day Phase begins now. It'll end on Friday night, but I may not get anything done until Saturday night. So one of those two days. Be ready.**
Midterms are really eating up all of my time. I'm not putting this on hold, but the length of phases are going to be longer. I won't give dates for when a phase ends, either. You just have until I put up the results to get all your stuff in. I'll most likely have time tomorrow, since I only have one test instead of my usual two.

Until then, adios.

(And here we go, lots of information condensed into a short and sweet chapter. Hopefully I can start making them more to-the-point now, we'll see. And time to see who dies. I'm actually happy about this death, not because I'm taking sides or because I didn't like this person, but because it really was perfect timing:)
The den was dark and small, empty except for a large lump in the farthest corner of the lair. It was quiet, and the mist from the early morning air slowly seeped into the cave. Following the mist was a shining white arctic wolf. His eyes were white and unseeing, but he walked without fault into the rocky den.

"White Wolf," came a deep, husky voice somewhere within the den. The White Wolf could not pinpoint its location due to the small area and the resounding echoes all throughout the room.

"Alpha," the White Wolf whispered, bowing its head in greeting.

"The Half Moon is coming," came the echoing voice from deep within the cave. "Tell me your plans."

"Seeking the Red Wolf would probably be best," the White Wolf explained. "The villagers are killing themselves off enough. We don't need to bother with them for now."

"Strengthening our pack is best," echoed the Alpha Wolf. And then the lump in the back of the den rose, revealing the Black Wolf with his dark, sleek coat, glaring yellow eyes and dripping white fangs. "Then that is what you shall do."

The White Wolf knelt down and bowed his ears. "And then our pack will be complete, Alpha, and we can take over. We can have our revenge."

"No," the Black Wolf growled, "it won't be complete."

"'Black, White, and Red," the White Wolf said, seemingly reciting something, "and then they all will be dead.' We have no need for the other."

"Don't put all your faith into mere rhymes," the Black Wolf replied, glaring down at the blind wolf. "The other is more valuable then you will ever know. And until we know what side he has taken, we can not be sure that victory is ours."

"I can taste blood," the White Wolf said, his head rolling up until it was facing the sky above the den. "It is a prophecy that we will win."

"The taste of blood is a good sign," agreed the Black Wolf, but he did not sound convinced.

"It will be time for the voting soon," the White Wolf said, sniffing the air. "I must go."

"One last thing," the Black Wolf said, moving towards the White Wolf. "The Red Wolf killed last night-"

"No, he didn't," the White Wolf cut in. "Brash and hungry, he attacked the first person he saw. And he realized after it was too late and had to run. He did not get a chance to hunt again that night."

"That is what I thought," the Black Wolf said, and his mouth twisted into a sadistic grin.

I woke up to a loud knocking at the door. I groaned and slipped out of bed. I had been having some sort of dream, but I couldn't remember what it was anymore. I had a sickening feeling it was about wolves again, though. I was looking down, but I saw the shadow of Reiter as he got up and went to the door. I was painfully aware that I was in a t-shirt and underwear, but it seemed like guests always liked to drop in when I wasn't looking my best so I tried to shrug it off once again.

"Ah, I've been expecting you, Detective," I heard Reiter say to whoever was at the door. I just yawned and scratched my ear with my pinky, bored and tired. But something about what the Healer said bugged me, although I didn't bother trying to figure out what.

"The darn thing nearly got me," I heard a man with a British accent saying. They were talking about another one of those Healer-issues that I liked to keep out of. I decided I wasn't a big fan of the healing business. Reiter was reminded of that during every single one of our kicking and screaming matches when he tried to put his glowing hands on me. And by "our kicking and screaming matches", I mean my kicking and screaming matches. But we can keep that part our little secret.

"You really need to be careful, Detective," Reiter was saying. They were in the back room where he did his healing now. I still hadn't looked up or moved from my spot. I was sitting with my head in my hands and my eyes closed, relaxing and letting the conversations drift in and out of my ears.

"Or faster," the Detective said. "Had an issue with the dummy. The bloody meat kept on falling out. And you know those bloody things won't take the bait if they don't got the meat in 'em."

"Well it did look quite impressive," Reiter said. "You gave us a scare. One of our newer residents really thought you had died." I heard chuckling come from both of them, and I glanced at the door that they were standing behind. Something about their whole conversation sounded very familiar...

Detective... Wait a second. Wasn't that the guy who just...

"ZOMBIE!" I yelped, jumping off of the couch and staring wide-eyed at the door. Sure enough, the Detective and Healer came running out. "You!" I was pointing at the Detective, "y-you're supposed to be... dead..."

"It was a mix up," Reiter said, holding his hands up in a calming manner. "One of the tricks our Detective uses is a fake body so that he can escape."

"Not that I didn't get attacked. The thing bit me pretty good, but with Reiter's healing hands I should be alright."

"So... you didn't die," I whispered, allowing it to sink in.

"If I did, then I'd be worried for the two of you right now, being able to see me an all."

"Detective Levin is a master of disguise. He should have no problem concealing himself from the wolves," Reiter added, reassuringly. I nodded slowly, allowing myself to relax and breathe again.

And then something else made me perk up. I had had a dream that Detective Levin was killed by the Red Wolf. But now, it seemed, that the dream didn't come true. It really was just a dream. Kind of coincidental in a freaky way, but still just a dream. Just. A. Dream. And whatever wolf dream I had just had was just another nightmare, too. It all started right after confronting a wolf and living, of course I'd start having nightmares about it. And that's all they were. Just nightmares.

"Come on," came Reiter's voice, sweeping me out of my own head, "we're going to escort J.J. down to the vote."

"J.J.?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Detective J.J. Levin, at your service," said the Detective as he took his cap off and bowed.

When we got down to the Town Square, there seemed to be some sort of riot going on. A strangely dressed man – the same one who had promised to tell me the story about the voting issues back when I was a clueless traveler – was standing nervously next to Jade, the powerful political figure of the town.

"This man is innocent!" Jade cried out in his deep, powerful voice. "The Jester is our town enjoyment and should not be persecuted for his strange choice of apparel! I'm appalled at those of you who still continue to throw a vote his way. Leave Miles alone."

Everyone clapped at Jade's speech, which we must have came in towards the end of. Whatever outcry had came about while we were gone, we missed it. I was glad, since I had enough surprises to last me. There was only one more surprise left for today, and that would be the vote. These were always so painful to watch.

"That's enough, Jade. Miles is a nice, funny boy, but no one is exempt from the votes. Miles, your name will stay on the ballot. I'm sure no one will vote for you, so please stop looking so nervous," the Mayor lectured, where a shaking Miles nodded his head and did a handstand back to his seat. Once he was there, he relaxed more and even cracked a few jokes to the people sitting nearby. I found it weird that a jester wouldn't want to hog all of the spotlight, but apparently this clown got stage fright (ha, and I'm a poet and I didn't know it!).

"Now for the vote," the Mayor said, coughing to clear his throat. He scanned through the pile of papers. It was a few moments of anxiously fidgeting around, glancing at the audience nervously, knowing that one of the people sitting there were not going to make it home...

"Danny," the Mayor called, but in his voice he sounded deeply surprised by this. I looked around for the man named Danny, and gasped when I saw a man with a white cane slowly get up. The Hunter walked over and aided him towards the center. There was some heckling at the Hunter for leading poor Danny to his doom.

"They're really going to do that to him? He's blind!" I hissed at Reiter, who was watching calmly. He didn't say anything, so I looked back at the center stage in my usual annoyance.

Danny said nothing. He saw nothing. But as the Hunter raised his gun and cocked it, I swear the corner of Danny's mouth twitched to form the smallest of smiles before his face was eradicated by the bullet. I thought it was over, and I began to get up to leave with everyone else, but Reiter grabbed my and whispered, "Look."

I looked. Danny was no longer there. A bloody, white wolf lay dead on the ground and I gasped in shock, along with a few others. Blind old Danny Fenton was, it turned out, the White Wolf.

** I'd just like to say what good timing you guys have. Fox Phantom died, not because he left the game, but because you guys voted him out. That's pretty lucky and good timing, I'd say. Anyway, you guys killed the White Wolf and Detective J.J. Levin is back. Night Phase time. Go go go. **
But it makes no sense in a WW Game. Werewolf is about suspecting on who may be the wolf and having no clue who anyone is, yet we know J is alive and a detective, thus contradicting the game in an awful way.

That's not true with every role. Take the Mystic role as an example. There are up and downsides to every move you make, and it just so happens that this is one of them. J can not be killed by the wolves, but if it is attempted he loses the ability to vote for the day and his role is revealed. The wolves and the villagers can use it to their advantages.

Well, I thought she may have meant he couldn't initially be killed. For example, it'd take two actual attacks to kill him. I don't know.

I think she means, if a Wolf tries to kill him, he will miss one voting thing, then come back as vulnerable as anyone else. (Which means, after the first wolf attack, a second wolf attack would kill him)
Please confirm whether I am right or wrong.

Do you really want more explanation? If it remains a mystery, the wolves will have to decide for themselves whether attempting to kill J again is smart or a waste of time. Otherwise, knowing the truth will help them decide what to do: kill again or go for someone different.

Besides, mysteries are more fun.

(We were just about to wake up, since it's morning. So here's what's what, and then day can begin:)
I guess this tale might not make much sense to whoever is reading this. I mean, it must seem like some sort of cat-and-mouse chase between some random werewolves and the people. But that wasn't it at all. I came into Gladys Village knowing very little and just going with the flow. But as things became more real to me, and the danger was eminent, I knew I had more learning to do. So one night, on the half moon, I went out looking for trouble...

Miles 'Skippy' Sousa lived in the smallest home in the entire village (but don't get me wrong, they were all small). I went back to the Gladys Inn owners for a map and was able to migrate through the small town and knock on Miles door.

"Yes-hoo-ee!" called out Miles in a sing-song voice, answering the door. "The Skipper is at your ser- Oh, it's y-y-you..."

"Surprised to see me?" I asked, leaning against the doorway and smirking.

"Well, a little, it is... late..." Miles replied, his eyes darting around.

"Don't look so nervous," I said, "it may make you look... guilty of something."

"What? No!" Miles starting jumping around, obviously overjoyed by my presence. I laughed and let myself inside his small abode.

"You promised to help me. Well, now I need it," I said, cutting right to the chase.

"Er, um... I'm sorry I don't think I can help-"

"Sure you can," I said, interrupting him. "I want information. You perform all around town. You hear a lot of gossip. You just tell me what you know and I'll be on my merry little way."

"It's not that easy," he said, twiddling his thumbs. "I'm just a poor old Jester, please you must understand. If the werewolves find out... If they see us talking at all... I don't want..." He was tipping back and forth on his toes to heels now, his head down and shaking miserably back and forth. I raised an eyebrow and grimaced at the pathetic sight, wondering what I could do to calm him down.

"Hey, calm down. Look, I promise nothing will get to you. Just... don't cry or anything," I said nervously. "If you can't help me, fine. But, please, show me someone who can."

Miles took a few deep breaths before looking up again. "I guess... I can help..."

"You sure you have the heart for it?" I asked with my arms folded and an eyebrow raised, smirking at him. He looked as if he was about to have a heart attack, and I didn't need his death on my hands.

"I can take you to the library," he said, still breathing heavily. "That will help."

"Oh goodie," I said in mock enthusiasm, "books."

The Jester put on a cloak and gave me one to wear as well. He wanted to travel "incognito" apparently, and these black cloaks would help us blend in with the night sky. The night air was cool, and the soft wind felt good on my skin after spending a few minutes in the Jester's stuffy cabin. I let out a calming sigh and followed the Jester slowly down the path, while his head continued to dart around and his pace quickened with every noise he heard.

"S-So," he said as we neared an old building with gaping holes and broken glass windows all around it, "why do you want to know so much all of a sudden?"

"Oh, no reason," I said, shrugging. "I guess I've just taken a liking to you strange people. Besides, the more I know, the more prepared I'll be."

Well, it turned out the dilapidated building was the library. The Jester's hand went towards the door, but I didn't see the point. There was a large hole big enough to fit the Black Wolf through right next to the old, creaky door that we could easily walk through.

"It's locked," he said after turning the knob. "Looks like we'll just have to go back..." He didn't sound too upset about it, though. As he turned around to leave, I grabbed his cloak and pulled him through the hole in the wall.

"I don't see why they even bother locking the door," I said as we entered the library. He whimpered, but followed him inside. The library was – big surprise – small. There were a few rows of books and a check out desk (with another one of those holes behind it). There wasn't even a second floor. Miles handed me his flashlight and I began searching through the dusty old books.

"You guys aren't big readers, are you?" I asked as I sifted through the selection of untouched literature.

"J-Jade comes here a lot," Miles said, fidgeting around again.

"Oh yeah, that guy," I murmured absently as I took out one book 'The Trade of the Card' and glanced at the first chapter 'The History of the Card'. The next chapter was 'Rules of the Card' and then 'How to play Cards' and it went on and on with more chapters like that. I quickly put it back and then coughed as a dust cloud went into my mouth. "What's up with that Jade guy, anyway?" I asked as I continued glancing through the rows.

"Oh, well, he's the political opponent of the Review," the Jester said. I couldn't see him anymore behind the rows of books, but his voice carried through the practically empty room. "His party is called the Packet. He's more popular with the people, but somehow the Mayor beats him out every year. Jade doesn't seem to mind, though. His ideas always make it into laws one way or another... Actually, it was his idea to find the werewolves this way. Through the vote."

"Interesting," I said as I picked up a big blue cover with wearing print. At first I thought the book was about owls, but soon realized it was actually about how to make and sculpt different types of bowls. I put it back and sighed. Then I found an interesting book about the history of the Dead Men – an elitist group whose leader had them attempt to wipe out the entire world and rebuild it. They were wiped out by a small group of thieves and peace was restored. It looked like an interesting read, but I didn't have time. As I was putting it back, a small black pamphlet fluttered to the ground. I picked it up to look at it. The title read: The Colored Few. I flicked through it and gasped. It was information on the four wolves: The Black Wolf, the White Wolf, the Red Wolf, and the Blue Wolf. I had finally found what I had been looking for.

The Jester refused that we speak on the trip back to his house. I was so excited I could barely contain myself. Then, when we made it back to his little shack he said, "Go straight home, don't say anything to anyone, and don't let anyone know about this." I opened my mouth to ask why, but he slammed the door in my face. At least he let me keep the flashlight. It didn't really matter, nothing could dampen my mood now.

I made my way home, the pamphlet clutched tightly in my grasp and the flashlight illuminating my path. I began humming a tune, I don't remember what, but I usually hum when I'm in high spirits. The half moon was high in the sky, and I remembered the words the Hunter had said to me so long ago... I hadn't listened, and what happened to me? I had an encounter with the Black Wolf. And then I had a dream that I was the Red Wolf. But I was so close to the Healer's house, the night was nearly over, I could make it. I needed to get back and look through the pamphlet and find out more about these werewolves that were haunting the town...

Of course, luck is about just as friendly as fate (and if you remember, fate isn't that nice). I heard a twig snap behind me, and my head whirled around. My flashlight homed in on the noise, but all I could see was a broken twig.

"Hello?" I called, squinting my eyes and moving the flashlight in every direction. "Come on out and face me, you coward!" There was another noise behind me, and so I spun around. Just a hair away stood the beast that I had wanted to see the most, but also never wanted to see again: the Blue Wolf.

At first all I could think was 'I KNEW IT! I KNEW I WAS RIGHT! THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A BLUE WOLF!'. But then, as the creature took another step towards me, my brain switched gears to, 'HOLY SHIT I'M GOING TO DIE HERE! DAMN IT, WHY COULDN'T I HAVE BEEN WRONG? WHY DID THERE HAVE TO BE A GODDAMN BLUE WOLF!?'

It was a magnificent creature, no doubt. It's blue coat was lit up by the moon's rays and it was big and lean, fast and strong, and a strange power seemed to come from it. But if looks could kill, I would have been dead right there. It looked ferocious, and it's dark blue eyes seemed to see right through me, right into my very core.

"Um, h-hi," I said in a high-pitched voice. "Nice weather we are having, isn't it?"

"You are safe tonight," a voice said. The Blue Wolf's mouth did not move, but the sound seemed to echo right in my head. I knew the wolf was speaking to me, and I felt as if the conversation was for only us to hear.

"What do you mean?" I asked, my heart beat beginning to slow and my voice returning to normal.

"The White Wolf is gone. I rule the Half Moon now," the Blue Wolf said. "I will not kill you."

"O-Oh, thanks," I said, shifting nervously. "So, um, can I go home?"

"You wish to know more about me, yet you do not wish to ask me face-to-face?"

"What?" I asked, quickly hiding the pamphlet. "I'm not, I wouldn't-"

"It is okay. I will allow this. I will also allow you to ask me one question. But only one, and I wish not to stay here long."

"Uh, okay..." I said, taking out my pamphlet. I quickly found the Blue Wolf section and scanned it over. The Blue Wolf part wasn't very long. It merely said, 'The Blue Wolf has the power of the Blue Moon. It is the strongest and most deadly of the wolves, but also the one with a destiny within itself. The Blue Wolf is separate from the other wolves, and therefore must choose its own path.'

After a moment of processing what the pamphlet said, I asked the first question that came to my mind: "What is your path?"

"A wise question to ask. I must choose whether to become one with the wolves, or one with the people. It is on the first Blue Moon of the year that I make my choice. Every year I must choose. I have made my choice early this year, on this very day. I have chosen to side with the people this year. That is why I am sparing your life," the Blue Wolf explained. "But now the night is almost over and you must go. Come onto my back and I will bring you home."

With much trepidation, I climbed onto the wolf's back. Within a second, we were off. I yelled out and grabbed onto his hair for support. But once I was steady I began to laugh. "This is amazing!" I cried out. My hair rippled through the wind, I felt the cool air over my body, and everything looked like a blur.

It was over all too quickly. I hopped off the Blue Wolf's back, and turned around to say goodbye, but he was gone. Dizzy from the fast ride, I stumbled into the house. The Healer was asleep, and I suddenly realized how tired I was. It was four in the morning when I climbed into my bed and fell asleep, my clothes still on and the pamphlet still clutched in my hand.

**No one died. Stuff happened, but that's for people to know and you to find out later... maybe. Anyway, Day Phase now. It ends sometime.**
What's funny is that I played a game of Werewolf once and we ended up killing the seer on day 1.

Well, as it is It seems like we all just have to be careful, as we have;
2 WW's
1 Blue wolf
5 Villagers who probably have special roles
J

so it's obvious not to kill J but the WW's may attack him again to see where it goes, someone in particular may seem like a blue wolf yet be the opposite and vice versa, the blue wolf can't say who he is because if he does then one of the other wolves will kill him.

thus outside of hoping on J since he's pretty much the seer from the sound of it (prove me wrong if there's something I missed) it's pretty much an entire mystery. Even then, If J does decide/is allowed to tell us stuff, he could also steer us the wrong way. He probably wouldn't however considering one of the WW's tried to get him.

Isn't guessing fun?!?

Wow, I actually kept my promise to you guys. I'm so proud of myself. Anyway, here it is, quickly done to save time:
I woke up the next morning to find the pamphlet gone. I searched every nook and cranny in my bed to no avail. I hadn't been dreaming, I knew I hadn't been dreaming. But as an hour passed and I couldn't find the pamphlet or the flashlight, or anything from my midnight trip, I began to change my opinion. It had all been a dream, apparently. That library, the Jester's strange attitude, the Blue Wolf... Maybe my need for the Blue Wolf to be real caused me to create a dream where he was. But now reality was settling in, and I began feeling that strange emptiness one sometimes feels when they wake up from something great.

I heard the door open nearby and knew Reiter was up. I heard him walk up behind me, his arm snaking around to touch my scar. I winced, but allowed him to trace it. "Morning," I mumbled, still disappointed that my adventure last night had been nothing more than a fantasy.

"Your scar is doing better," he replied, although I could tell he was lying. For the longest time his actions had been a mystery to me. He almost always had a slight smile on his face, his voice was light and airy and rhythmic, never missing a beat. But there was a slight change in the way he talked. He always sounded happier when he was concealing a lie. And he sounded particularly happy in that moment.

"I don't think it will every fully heal," I replied. "A werewolf's venom has special properties."

"Oh? Did you read that somewhere?" the Healer asked, his voice slightly deeper, and I knew I was entering treacherous waters. Why that irked him, I wasn't sure, but it piqued my interest.

"No, I just figured," I said, shrugging. In fact, where did I learn that from? The image of the pamphlet floated into my head. That's right, I had read that somewhere in that pamphlet. It was only a dream, though, so that statement necessarily wasn't true.

"I don't think it is special properties that is keeping this from healing," the Healer said, cheery again, "rather, the fact that you refuse to stand still during our healing sessions."

"I'm not used to glowing hands trying to touch my face all the time," I said defensively, but grinned at his teasing. "Anyway, when are we going down to the vote?"

"We can head down now, if you want. I already know who I'm voting for."

"Who?"

"You'll see. He'll be getting what's coming to him." The Healer had a gleam in his eye, and I raised an eyebrow suspiciously.

"Why?"

"Let's just say it isn't always a blind vote," he replied. I was used to his evasive tactics in our conversations, so I dropped it.

"Okay, well let's go," I said.

***

The place was full, and the hat was overflowing with little white pieces of paper. Reiter left to put his vote into the hat. I settled down in the grass and relaxed. My mind wandered back to that dream I had had, and I scanned the crowd for Miles. I found him by his hat in the front, sitting nervously next to Jade. Part of me wanted to go over to him and ask him about last night. Maybe it hadn't been a dream. Maybe I had just lost the pamphlet. But either way, he had told me never to speak about what happened. Still, if it had been a dream then it couldn't hurt to try...

"He's going to be announcing now," Reiter said, back from voting and snapping me out of my daydreams. "You should really pay attention to this one. Trust me."

"I do trust you," I mumbled and then stifled a yawn. "Okay, okay, I'm watching."

There was no disturbances as usual by Jade. He was sitting up straight, looking particularly pleased. I had a feeling he was in on what Reiter was in on. And the Mayor seemed jolly, too. Everyone seemed to get some inside joke. Where was I when all this happened?

The Mayor fumbled with the papers for a moment, then his voice rumbled across the crowd, saying, "Leroy." No one moved for a moment, it was as if relief washed over the entire crowd. Apparently, their plan had worked...

"Leroy," the Mayor called again. A tall, slender man dressed in a red T-shirt stood up. He had long mousy brown hair and amber eyes. He was sitting next to the Jester, and as he stood up Miles trembled like a lost puppy.

"Yes," Leroy said, his voice surprisingly high, yet confident. "So you all wish me dead? Fine. I will die with honor and pride. Soon you will all see how mistaken you were."

The Hunter shook his head, grinning. "Sorry to prove you wrong pal," he said, cocking his rifle, "then again, I'm not that sorry. See you in Hell, you sorry son of a ninny." There was a blast, and Leroy fell. I flinched, but watched as Reiter had instructed. Slowly, the bleeding body began to transform. In its place laid the mangled red corpse of a wolf... The Red Wolf...

A lot of my memory after that realization is a bit blurred. I remember screaming and cheering, everyone jumping into the air and hugging the person next to them. Reiter had whispered in my ear that we were all going to the bar for drinks and celebration and that I should join him. We went out, there was lots of shots, laughing, not a frown in the crowd...

The rest of that day is a bit fuzzy from all the drinking. But when I woke up and realized who was next to me, I figured that whatever we had done that day, it must have been a lot of fun.

**Rayquarian died, he was the Red Wolf. Um... yeah. That's about it I think. So it's Night Phase now. Full Moon time, so watch out.**

Also, there's an error on the front page, unless the death of the Red Wolf did something to everyone below him.

Wow, am I updating fast or what? I wasn't even planning on writing up the next verdict, but I saw the document staring at me from the tabs and decided to start working on it. And what do you know, I ended up finishing it. Only took me, like, an hour. Now onto watching the Grammies with the 3D glasses I stole from the movie theater! Oh, and here's the verdict:
A noise woke me up. It sounded like the creaking of a floorboard. But as my body regained consciousness, all I could make out was the pounding of my head. I groaned and attempted to turn over in bed, until I realized where I was. I realized almost immediately I wasn't in my own bed - or my own room. In the darkness I could see a shape lying next to me, a hand limply placed over my stomach. Reiter let out a small sigh and turned over in bed, his bare back facing me (a few scratches by his shoulders prominent from the previous night), and his arm relinquishing its hold over me.

As quietly as I could, I slipped out of bed and collected my clothes. It was nearly three in the morning, I realized as I glanced at the clock. I tiptoed out of the room and redressed myself. I noticed my heart was beating almost as fast and loudly as my head was pounding. My memories seemed on the brink of returning to me, and I closed my eyes tightly to block them out. I didn't have time to think about what I had just done, what I needed now was to sleep.

I walked into the kitchen and found a small bottle of something that said it could cure headaches, along with some water. I gulped down the medicine and sighed. The headache didn't ebb away, instead as I concentrated on it, it seemed to grow worse. The memory of the party at the bar came like a jolt of lightning. All of the drinks, the playful banter between me and Reiter, which ultimately led into the bedroom. I groaned with embarrassment, but couldn't help not feeling too bad about it. I just didn't know how I'd be able to face him in a couple hours when he woke up. My last hope was that he didn't remember anything, and maybe I could achieve the normalcy we once had. Then again, nothing could ever really be normal - not with the ugly scar darkening my face. Not when whenever I saw myself in a reflective surface, I remembered the beast that gave it to me. And it was that scar that led me to live with Reiter in the first place...

I touched the soft, dead skin that was on my face. It was a small slash that the Black Wolf left on me. A memory that would forever haunt me, and I sighed at that knowledge. "Better get some sleep..." I grumbled, not wanting to give myself time to think. "Maybe I'll have more fantastic dreams about make-believe Blue Wolves and dilapidated libraries that hold the key to every secret about this god darned town..." As bad as a mood I was in, I couldn't suppress a smile as I passed Reiter's room.

***

I jumped up in bed. What was it that woke me up that time? It sounded like a knock on a door, and in my sleepy haze, I got out of bed to go answer it. I made it out of my room when I snapped out of my daydream and realized that no one would be coming into Reiter's house at four in the morning. I turned around to go back inside and sleep, when I realized the door to Reiter's room was open.

"Weird," I mumbled, and blinking back the sleep, I peered inside. My eyes widened and I stifled a gasp. Reiter was awake and glaring at his bed. Or, perhaps, whatever was on his bed... There was a loud creaking noise, and I saw the end of his bed sink.

"What do you want?" I heard Reiter hiss. He was talking quietly, and the response must have been even quieter, because Reiter went on with the conversation even though I could not hear a response. "You're too late, she doesn't have it. Someone else got it from her before you." Once again, I could not hear an answer, but Reiter continued to talk after a brief pause. "I won't tell you who has it now. You can search all you want, but you'll never find it," - a small smirk formed on Reiter's face - "it'll be the last thing you do and you still will not succeed."

The next thing, I did hear, but I wished I hadn't. It was a bloodcurdling voice, deep and sinister, a voice I remembered well from my own encounters. It was none other than the Black Wolf. "That is quite an arrogant claim. It leads me to believe you are bluffing. One of you has it, and since my lead says the girl, I will have to kill her." Reiter frowned and his eyes seemed to widen, even if only the tiniest bit. "Unless, of course, you can prove me otherwise."

"She doesn't have it," he replied through gritted teeth, his fists curling into little balls. "And if you think you are getting it, you'll have to go through me! And I mean that literally, because I ate it." Reiter was smiling, but his stance changed into a defensive position, and a horrible mental picture went through my head. The Black Wolf cutting as easily through Reiter's stomach as he did my face, tearing him to little bits until he found the invaluable item that he was after, whatever it was... And then, it dawned on me. They were talking about me, I was that girl. Which means that the "it" they were talking about could only be... the pamphlet? Reiter stole the pamphlet from me? At first I was angry, but as I remembered what I had just been witnessing, I understood. For some reason, that pamphlet was very important to the werewolves, and they hadn't been able to find it (although it seems they searched very hard in that library, that explains all the holes...), and when Reiter saw I had it he took it from me while I was still asleep...

I quickly shook out of my daydream, the past, present, and future suddenly mingling together in my mind and I realized what was going to happen if I didn't reveal myself and try to stop it.

"What the hell is going on in here?" I asked, pushing the door all the way open and stomping inside. I looked over at Reiter, who was observing me with what could only be terror in his eyes, and then I glanced at the Black Wolf. A big, black, hulking figure with yellow eyes and giant white fangs. He was regarding me curiously, and I saw his snout curl into a toothy grin.

"Ah, the girl," the Black Wolf stated. His eyes moved slowly over my face, and then rested on my scar. "I see you couldn't get that scar of yours treated... I also understand you were the one that warned the others of the Red Wolf attack on the Detective. I must ask you how you knew about that."

"I-"

"Don't talk to her," Reiter snapped, and I glanced at him. He wasn't looking at me anymore, but staring at the Black Wolf with venom in his eyes and I was astounded by the emotion he was emitting.

"I had a dream," I said, looking back at the Black Wolf with determination in my eyes. The Black Wolf gave me that same curious expression, which was a close enough reaction to what I was hoping for. He knew something. I knew he had the answers I wanted, and so I pushed forward, another memory coming to my mind. "In fact, I had another dream like it afterwards."

"Oh?" the Black Wolf stated, his voice remaining indifferent, but I knew he was struggling to keep his stance. He was very curious, and so I pressed on.

"Yes, about you. And your friend."

"The White Wolf?" There was a glow in his eyes now, and I smiled despite myself.

"Yes, him. The blind one who believed too much in those rhymes of yours. In fact, he smelled blood - and then within the next hour he was dead. He thought it was a prophecy that you two were going to win the fights, but instead it was his own demise, wasn't it? And you knew it, too, didn't you? You knew the smell of blood didn't mean victory and-"

"Enough!" the Black Wolf shouted, a howling echo coursing through the room. "Enough of your foolish dreams. They are nothing more than dreams."

"Yes, that is quite enough," Reiter added, still not looking at me, and his calm stature back.

"But you and I both know it is more than just a dream," I continued, looking back at the Black Wolf. "Because you were there, and I was there, and we both know it happened. The White Wolf prophesized his own demise, but was too blind to see it for what it was, and the Blue Wolf chose the villagers over the werewolves."

"What do you know about that?" the Black Wolf asked, settling his glare on me. "How could you possibly-"

"The Blue Wolf visited me, that's how!" I shouted back. "I'm more connected in all of this than even you, it seems. I know more about any of this than you do. I have a connection with the wolves, don't I? You have the answers, don't you? When you gave me this scar, you weren't just giving me a scar! You gave me something else. Some of your... your power. Your connection to this whole werewolf-intercourse ed-up-war. You gave me an insight into your own pack. In a way, part of you has been instilled in me."

"Foolish girl!" he growled, and he rose up to his full height, the hair on his back sticking straight up. "That last night I promised not to kill you, but that doesn't mean I will hold back tonight!"

"Would you dare laying a paw on me?" I shouted back, empowered suddenly by some unknown force. "If you were to kill me, a person so deeply connected to you, what would the consequences be? I believe you are too much of a coward to attempt it!"

"Me? The Black Wolf, a coward!?"

"Yes, you! The big, bad wolf who hides behind his underlings to do his dirty work, and when they are all dead he is reduced to making petty deals for a piece of paper to uncover a sly way to kill the Blue Wolf instead of facing him head-on like a true man would!"

"I've had enough!" The Black Wolf jumped off the bed, now standing in between Reiter and I. "One of you is going to die tonight, if not both! You can either give me what I am after Reiter, and you will be the only one to suffer, or you can put up a fight and I will kill the both of you! You can call me a coward all you want, little girl, but I am still strong enough to finish both of you off with one claw while I am in this state!"

"You can just try to kill both of us!" I shouted, my fists clenched.

"No!" Reiter shouted.

"Wha-"

"No," Reiter said again, cutting me off. He looked at me, suddenly tired and sad-looking, someone torn by a fatal decision. "You can't have her. Just take me and get this over with-"

"But-"

"No," he repeated, raising a hand to cut me off. "But I have one last wish, if I am to go with you."

"What is it?" the Black Wolf asked, a small, twisted grin on his face. I gritted my teeth, Reiter was playing right into his hand! He must have had a plan. If I waited, Reiter would reveal his plan and everything would be okay...

"Don't do it in front of her. Please."

"Very well."

That didn't sound like a good enough plan. What was he going to do, try to escape later on? What he needed was to not go at all. "Wait, Reiter, you can't-" But the Black Wolf cut off my plea. I heard Reiter yelling something, but the Black Wolf was on top of me now, growling. I breathed in some of his foul breath and coughed, then held in my breath.

"Watch your back," came the Black Wolf's whisper. "Don't dream, or the demons will take over." I saw him raise one of his giant claws, and then felt nothing as the blackness consumed me.

**Rob, the Healer (could choose one person each Day to protect from the votes and from the werewolves), has passed. Hey, at least he got laid right before he died. That's all we can really ask for, isn't it? And now it is the Day Phase, so start sending in your votes!**
O.K. this is strange. I'm surviving surprisingly longer than I normally do. Usually it's within the first 3.

Rob...I will never forget you. We were brothers from Day 1, and it is because of you that I have been able to get through this alive. Thank you, Red Link. I pray that you've found peace in the afterlife.
Someone is taking this quite seriously.

Whoa, we witnessed a new KJ tonight folks, well actually we already knew it existed, but to think she'd make herself do it in a story about herself with Rob? and not me since we were "lovers" once?
This offends me.
But I am literally giggling to death right now.
RIP Rob.
and RIP to everyone else who I didn't say RIP to.

Also, awesome story, I like how you kinda-sorta make it somewhat realistic if this stuff was possible.

We have two (Or was it three?) WW couples.
Well, this is less "lovers" and more like your typical bar story.

I can't wait to see who's next.
I do agree, actually.

Here you guys go. Took me two hours to write. That's what I get for making this entire thing spontaneous and not coming up with an actual story (...while still giving a story when I could have just given you guys results and moved on). Everything your getting is the best I can do on the spot. Not like it matters. Once again, you can read or just scroll to the bottom for the bold.
Part One - The Puppeteer

The blackness slowly faded into white...

I picked up my head and looked around at the whiteness around me. On the white floor was a pool of red. I placed a hand on my head and felt a sting of agony. I winced and looked at my fingers. They were covered in blood. I blinked away the pain and racked my brain for something. Anything. My name, perhaps? Nothing. The feeling of loss seemed to weigh down on me, though. And for no reason I sat down on the white ground, around the white walls in an empty white room, and cried.

Something soft touched my finger and I let out a short intake of breath. I glanced at the ground through a blurry vision, to see a white outline against the white ground. I took a finger and poked at the strange-looking spot, and it made a crunching noise. It was a piece of paper. I scooped it up and looked at it. It was some sort of pamphlet with four different colored wolves on the cover. I opened it up and scanned the page.

Suddenly, my eyes bugged out as a connection was made and as I was about to let out a scream the world around me faded back into blackness...

I slowly pushed myself up. I was back in Reiter's house, only he was gone. My scar was reopened now, and fresh blood spilled out of my head. I grabbed a towel and dabbed it against my head, only feeling slightly dizzy. I remembered everything now, and the memory of the pamphlet that came to me in that dream world was fresh in my mind. I knew what I had to do.

I found some fresh bandages in one of Reiter's cabinets and wrapped it around my head carefully. Then I got changed, taking my time and making sure not to get dizzy and slip back into unconsciousness. When I was ready, I headed out the door.

I must have looked strange on that day. My face was set in an oddly determined, all-knowing sort of way. Anyone who saw me would know I had a secret that I was very intent on showing to the rest of the world. But I didn't pass anyone on that cold morning. Everyone was already at the square, the Mayor might have even been reading the votes. I was late, later than I had ever been. It didn't matter, I wasn't going to play their voting game this time. No, this time I wasn't about to gamble on innocent lives so that a select few could have their fun. This time I was going to go there with answers.

I saw the square up ahead, and sure enough, the Mayor was reading the vote. I watched as he put down the last index card with an unimportant name scribbled on it, and I was close enough to hear his voice say, "I'm sorry" in that detached, sad voice only he had. I could see his mouth forming its vowels, about to chant the name of the next victim in their senseless crimes.

"Stop," I called, halting at the edge of the square. Everyone turned and looked at me, frozen in shock at my outburst. A cool breeze followed my words, and the hat with the index cards spilled over. The white cards, each with a different handwriting of the unlucky victims, caught the wind and flew gracefully up into the air. On the other side of the square, a man walked up and caught one of the fluttering cards.

"Mayor," he called, walking up, and I could see that it was Jade. "This name has yours on it."

"Oh, so it does," the Mayor said, glancing at it momentarily. "Perhaps one of your supporters thought it would be funny to try and get rid of the competition."

"Don't be funny," Jade retorted, "my people wouldn't-"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I implied it was one of your posse, when I should have been pointing the finger at you."

"I wonder how many other of these have your name on them," I said, glancing down at Miles and over at the Hunter. Miles seemed like his same jumpy self, but the Hunter nodded at me, almost encouragingly.  "I mean, has anyone else really had a chance to do the voting? Or do we all just trust your reading capabilities, Mayor?"

"You should trust me, I am your elected ruler," the Mayor said, his face suddenly red. "And don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Why are you speaking such nonsense, you aren't even part of this town!"

"I may not be, but I've had more encounters with your little problems than anyone else," I said, standing taller and subconsciously touching my bandaged head, which felt wet again with seeping blood. "And I had another encounter last night, if you didn't pick up on that yet."

"Still alive and fighting, we see," the Mayor grumbled.

"I think you better than anyone else know that, Mayor," I whispered, the wind carrying my voice for the Mayor to hear. It seemed his eyes widened, but only shortly before they turned into slits at my accusation.

"What are you saying, that I was there when the Black Wolf attacked you?" he spat, his face redder than ever.

"The Black Wolf attacked me?" I said, faking a surprised look. "I don't remember ever saying that..."

"W-What? But you did..." the Mayor said, his eyes wide and his face red again. "It doesn't matter! Who else could have done it? He's the only wolf left!"

"Funny how that works out," I said, a small smile on my face. I glanced at the audience, who were captivated and glancing back and forth between the Mayor and me. Jade was still behind the Mayor, his arms folded and a small smile on his face. I had finally figured everything out. I had a chance to read that pamphlet, I wasn't sure how, but I did. Maybe Reiter came to me, one last time. I liked to think it was his doing, and I smiled at that thought.

But now it was time to reveal what I knew. The audience seemed hooked already, and the Mayor seemed like he was on the verge of spilling everything he knew. I had them all hooked, as long as I executed everything just right...

"Who was it this time, Mayor?" I asked, catching him off-guard.

"W-What?" he sputtered, losing his balance for a second.

"Who was a goner this time around? I'd like to know."

"M-Miles," the Mayor said, bowing his head.

"Seems like that kid can't catch a break. No matter how many people like him, he just can't seem to come out on top," I said, shaking my head. "Who here actually voted for Miles? Be honest, now!"

"You can't do that!" the Mayor shouted. "These votes are strictly anonymous!"

"Now, now," came Jade's deep voice. "I'd like to know as well. Go on, raise your hands up high and proud! Who here actually voted for our favorite clown?"

Not a single hand went into the air.

"Strange," I said, "how it was going to be his funeral, even though no one asked for it. It looks as if someone was out to get him. Doesn't it?" Miles made a squeaking noise and sunk low into the ground, as if to appear invisible. "Perhaps he knew something that someone else here didn't want getting out?" I looked over at the Mayor, who made a noise similar to Miles.

"I-I would never!"

"Mayor, if you say the truth now, everything might still work out," I said.

"Yes," came Jade's voice, quieter now. He moved closer to the Mayor and spoke in a whisper. "Yes, why don't you go ahead and tell everyone the truth, Mayor..."

"I-I... Oh, why did you have to come to this town?" the Mayor cried out and fell to his knees, sobbing. "I don't want this! The big decisions... they aren't mine to make!"

"What do you mean?" I asked calmly, with a hint of curiousness in my voice.

"I think what the Mayor means is that he is only a figurehead of this town," Jade said, standing up higher and prouder. "The man who makes the real decisions... is me."

There was some gasps from the audience, as well as cheers from the Jade supporters.

"Oh?" I said, raising an eyebrow. "That's strange."

"This wild goose chase was the Mayor's idea, of course," Jade went on to say.

"Naturally," I said, nodding along with him.

"I thought I'd let him have something. After all, he really has no power."

"How kind of you."

"Although this turned into a bigger issue than I thought it would be. I didn't actually think you people would go through with it." Jade shook his head. "Although, I'm impressed. You killed two of the wolves. Maybe it wasn't all for nothing."

"And yet whenever the people get close to finally getting a lead, things turn for the worst," I said, with some sad murmurs from the crowd as they remembered their lost loved ones. "Particularly a pamphlet..."

"Th-The pamphlet?" the Mayor spoke up, choking between his sniffles. "Do you have it?"

"No, it was unfortunately stolen before it could be read," I said, still watching Jade for a reaction. His face remained indifferent, although I felt as if it were harder than before. As if he picked up on the shift of blame and was moving toward the defensive.

"You lost it?" It was the first time Miles had spoken in his normal voice all day, and in my surprise I turned to him and blinked. In that moment I let my guard down, I compromised the entire mission.

There was a yell, and before I could turn my head around I felt a large weight land on top of me. I hit the ground with a thud and felt myself slip out of consciousness for a moment. When the blackness disappeared, I found the Mayor still on top of me, tying my hands together with rope.

"H-Hey!" I yelled out, struggling away from the Mayor's grasp. "Get off me you poop hole!"

"I'm doing this for your own good!" he said, turning me over so that my face was digging into the dirt. I felt him start tying my legs together, and I began kicking to get him off. I couldn't see what was happening, but I felt my feet make contact with something and then the tying stopped. With some effort I managed to roll over and look up. The Mayor was on the ground, in a tussle with someone else.

"Miles?" I whispered, surprised. "Damn, I didn't know you had it in you." The Hunter ran over and untied my hands. I thanked him and stood up, grabbing my head and groaning.

"You okay, kid?" the Hunter asked in his deep, raspy voice. I nodded, but felt myself wobble to the right. The Hunter grabbed me and straightened me. "Take it easy, kid. You've got one bad wound up there. We need to get Reiter in here to-"

"He's dead," I said quietly. I felt my throat get hot and my eyes burn for a moment, but it passed. "He died last night... for me."

"Oh."

There was a long awkward silence, until a gunshot filled the air. My ears were ringing, and my eyes were closed, waiting for a pain that never came. I opened my eyes and realized I hadn't been shot. I looked over to see that Jade had the gun, and he aimed it at the Mayor and Miles. I couldn't tell who had been hit, but the green grass was blotted out by red and the two of them were no longer rolling around in the ground together.

"Oh no," I whispered, running over to the two of them. "Miles! Mayor!" I noticed immediately that the gun had gotten both of them. There was a hole through the Mayor's arm and the bullet was now lodged inside of the Jester's shoulder. "Oh, God..."

"Nobody move!" Jade shouted, but it looked like the audience was too stunned to move.

But then, someone spoke up. "My brother. He's dead." I glanced over to see Reiter's twin, and winced at the similarity. It was too much to bare. I glanced away from Spencer and nodded. "He had the pamphlet." I nodded.

"How did anyone find it?" came the thick accented Detective's voice. "We hid that thing bloody well, we did."

"You knew-"

"We never actually read the thing," the Detective cut in. "It was given to us by a traveler. Told us to hide it safely for him, so when he returned he could give us a tidy sum. It was held together by tape, and he said that if he saw that it was tampered with he'd give us bloody hell. So, no one's read it. We want that money!"

"It slipped out of a book while I was at the library," I said. "So I took it."

"You went to the library to read?" Spencer asked, an amused smile on his face. "Not many here do that, so we just didn't think."

"Well, I wanted to learn more about the wolves. Miles showed me-"

"No!" came a cry from the hurt Jester, who slowly propped himself up. "S-She's lying. I didn't... I didn't..."

"It doesn't matter," Jade growled. "The gig's up. I always knew you'd show someone that information, Miles. I knew one day you'd slip up and I'd be forced to exterminate you!" Jade propped up the Hunter's gun once again, aiming clearly for Miles this time.

"Stop," I said, stepping in front of Miles. "If you want him, you'll have to go through me."

"Hmph, fine," Jade said, shrugging. "I don't care anymore. The gig's up, like I said. After I finish off the rest of you, I'm leaving this town and starting somewhere else. Somewhere with fresher blood."

"Jade, the powerful politician, turned out to be the last wolf," Spencer said, shaking his head.

"What, are you surprised, Mr. Seer?" sneered Jade. "Or you, new girl? How long have you known for, anyway?"

"Before I woke up, I had a dream," I said. "I was shown the pamphlet and finally read it. Had some interesting information in there, including who all the wolves were."

"Yes, except the Blue Wolf," Jade said. "Waste of paper, if you ask me!"

"No it was not, Jade. You have always been mistaken when it comes to great literature." My eyes widened at that voice. I knew that voice. I had heard it once before...

I turned to see the Blue Wolf walking towards us, its pelt shining in the sun.

"Y-You!" I stuttered, surprised. "How... Why?"

"I have come to protect the side I have chosen to protect. That is my duty."

"But, it's day!"

"The concept eludes you, young one. But it is possible that I have no human form. It is also possible that the moon is not what I feast on to maintain this form. Whatever reason you wish to use to explain this circumstance, please feel free to use it, for I wish not to explain things to a mere mortal as of right now, when times are dire for your kind."

"Ah, so you've come to watch your side lose?" Jade taunted. "I'm about to kill off the rest of them, and you're too late to do anything about it!"

"I am not too late for anything," replied the Blue Wolf calmly. It then sat down and stared intently at Jade. "Nothing of importance has happened yet. I am early."

"What is going on," I muttered, suddenly confused. Everything had been so clear only moments earlier. Jade was the Black Wolf, and he used his political power to use the Mayor, like a puppeteer, to do his bidding. Except the problem was, the Black Wolf had lost his pack, and so he did not know which of the villagers were part of his own. Sometimes he slipped up, and allowed his own fellow kind die at the hands of the Hunter. His next plan was to find the Blue Wolf and kill it, thus leaving the villagers helpless, but the pamphlet he stole didn't have the knowledge he thought it'd have.

But there was something else. There must have been a piece of the puzzle I was missing. The Blue Wolf came for a reason, but it didn't look like it was there to help. What was it waiting to happen? And then, something clicked. I finally understood. I finally knew what had to be done.

**A BUNCH OF SENSELESS PLOT STUFF HAPPENED. Results still not in, but I will give out some role information so you guys aren't totally disappointed.

Seer - Each Night Phase gets info on one person.
Mayor - 25% of vote. Also, if killed the Black Wolf is revealed.
Hunter - 50% of vote.
Detective - Gets a clue every other Night Phase of who wolf could be. Also can't be killed by wolves.
Jester - Can only be voted out if anonymous [I WONDER WHO I GAVE THIS ONE TO].

Good show, KJ.

So, what's it like being the Black Wolf, Jr?

Oh poop, call out.

Why don't we have the showdown right here, right now. Might be more interesting that way.

We had our reasons to let you live.

Also, you're close, but it wasn't just through Spud how we figured out your identity.
Oh God you guys, MYL is going to start boasting.

Cool, let's here it. Also, you probably realized I gave you the Jester role for a reason. You inspired me to make that role, since it seemed you always died in the first couple of phases, and I felt bad. Sure, the role is kind of boring, but you would have died during the first Day Phase if you didn't have it. YOU'RE WELCOME.

Innocents won, wolves lost.
I had to kill myself in order to get rid of the Black Wolf. How sad. ...It's strange how often all my stories end in the main character dying.
DISCUSS STUFF.

I appreciate the Jester role, KJ. I thought it was nifty, and it apparently drew all attention away from me. AND, it got me to the end of this WW, which is something that hasn't happened before. Sucks to hear that about the story though. D:
...are you going to tell them about your alliance with the others and your stride to victory?

So yeah, Hunter... 50% of the votes. I felt like a GOD through this. Just point my finger, "YOU DIE!" and it happened. Pretty awesome. I would love a role like this again. :D

JrDude, you would have died in the very first day phase if I didn't change my mind. >:[

funfact: I saw who red was that night you found out I was good, also this would've ended anyways the next phase because I was heavily considering on killing Jr the first night I got to fully use my powers anyways.

In all honesty, I thought you were a wolf a while ago TK, but Fox was making it more obvious so I chose to see if he was, he was and he joined me, then died.

Well before I learned who the hunter was, I already had a small alliance going, and we were gonna vote JrDude. Then some evidence came along, but I didn't trust it, thinking the person was manipulating, so I mistakenly convinced them to kill an innocent.

This wouldn't happen to be me, telling you who a wolf was, would it? That's why I hate the Seer, no one trusts him. D:

But it shouldn't have been a problem anyway, if Magnum had gotten that pm through.

Sucky ending sucked.  The Black Wolf shouldv'e revived me beforehand.  Now that wouldv'e been climatic!

But seriously, I enjoyed this, especially the narrative parts.

KJ, it's kind of weird to say this, but you made my role WAY to powerful. My immunity in the night allowed me to figure out MYL, Rob, Redsox, Spud, and Magnum all within the first day. It's impossible to beat that.

You ended up dying in the end, when the Black Wolf died. But maybe you're right. There are still kinks to work out and hopefully all my major glitches will be fixed by the time I make my next Werewolf.

Anyway, the Innocents win. This is officially over, and if there isn't another Werewolf anytime soon then maybe I'll make one again.
